Amazon has bought a gaming studio. MOAR CONSOLES MOAR?!
It’s been rumored for a while that Amazon was hankerin’ to dip its toes into the console waters. And why wouldn’t it? Every prominent corporation these days seems to want to dominated moar markets always! Or perhaps in an ideal world all markets alwayz! So Amazon buying an gaming studio? Smacks of a logical progression for the CorpoGiant.
EVANGELINE LILLY up for ‘ANT-MAN’ female lead. Hell yeah.
Despite being in the middle of a miserable, underdeveloped, brutally shoehorned love triangle, I enjoyed Evangeline Lilly in that disastrous riot of suck that was the second Hobbit movie. Whew! Holy run-on sentence! So with that in mind, you say she’s up for the female lead in Ant-Man? I say fuck yeah! And it could be Wasp? Double fuck yeah.
BRIAN WOOD and RICCARDO BURCHIELLI’s ‘DMZ’ getting TV adaptation.
Matty Roth lives! Fuck yes! First impression on hearing this news. DMZ coming to TV! Awesome! Second impression on hearing this news. Oh Fuck It’s On Syfy? Third impression on hearing this news. Some people from Mad Men are involved? Hope springs eternal!
Buy These Flippin Comics!!! (2.5.2014) – The New Girl
You all remember your first, right? The first time the “new kid in school” walked by you, and your jaw hit the floor. How did you ever walk the earth without seeing beauty like this before? How is your town suddenly and irrevocably reduced to a sea of troglodytes and inbred circus freaks with the new kid’s mere existence? Today a comic drops in our laps that reminds me of that first time. Every once in a while a comic comes along that changes the landscape – a book that forces not just comic fans, but the general public to take notice, to turn heads like the until-now-unimaginably attractive new kid. Hit the jump and let’s discuss that head-turner – Marvel’s newest marvel, Ms. Marvel, plus a few other books that might deserve a spot on your pull list.

John Carmack left ID SOFTWARE because they were like “NOPE” to Oculus Rift development
John Carmack, the coding genius/nightmare behind Quake and Doom left id Software last year. While most thought it was because he wanted to roll much deeper with the Oculus Rift, there’s a bit more to the story. Specifically, he was all “let’s like partner the fuck up! with Oculus” and the parent company ZeniMax was like “naw, bruh.”
Dan Mora’s WONDER WOMAN rides a gnarly motorcycle
Fuck the Batmobile, give me Wonder Woman riding high on a chopper. That’s what they’e called, right? Choppers. All peeling out, riding or dying. Maybe lasso a motherfucker while bombing down the streets of Metropolis at one-hundred miles per hour.
Hit the jump for the awesome depiction.
‘FANTASTIC FOUR’ Movie News: Dr. Doom a woman? Emmy Rossum is Sue Storm?
Here’s a steaming batch of Fantastic Four rumors. Emmy Rossum is in the running for Sue Storm. Excellent. Not only that, but there is another potential female lead in the mix. That of Dr. Doom. Oh the haters are already palpable, but I’m fine with it. Mix up the stagnant mythos I’ve had jammed down my gullet.
ED BRUBAKER got himself a cameo in ‘CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER.’
Gnarly as shit! Ed Brubaker is the writer behind The Winter Soldier. Dude came up with the storyline that shall serve as the centerpiece of the second Captain America flick. So it only seems both fair and righteous that the good sir has been granted a cameo in the flick. Where? That’ll come after the jump for you spoilerphobes. Know this, though: if you’ve seen the trailer, you’ve seen Brubaker already.
Seth Gordon is directing the ‘UNCHARTED’ movie adaptation
Seth Gordon! I don’t really have an opinion on the guy either way. Saw Horrible Bosses. Shrugged. Saw The King of Kong. Loved it. So he’s batting 50/50 in the minuscule “Movies I’ve Seen By Seth Gordon” department. His next shot at blowing my nipples into a rugged mess? The Uncharted movie.
Matt Fraction spits about why he left ‘IRON FIST.’ Makes sense, still bums me out.
For but a moment in time, Iron Fist was the fucking jam. Ed Brubaker, Matt Fraction, and David Aja collaborated on one of my favorite runs in the last…five years? (I’ll be honest I can’t remember when this run took place — blame the caffeine and the psychoactives.) It burned oh-so-brightly, and then like that it was gone. Unlike Thor: The Mighty Avenger though (another criminally under appreciated title in my book), it wasn’t canned. The team just sort of…left. Now Matty Fraction gives some insight into the why.
