Opinions Vary: Scrilla Villa

scrila-villa

It’s time we had a frank discussion about cash money, and I ain’t talkin’ Weezy. In my years on this earth, I have have always been fascinated by the concept of money, and its effect on people of all walks of life. I find it so mind-boggling that as a society, we all agree that this meaningless paper (or electronic data) has value for goods and services. Be careful, because if you get super high and think about it really hard, your head might explode. Now I know the basics that money evolved from barter systems, and then gold based economies grew about, etc etc. But I thought I would take the opportunity to explore a few different perspectives on the subject that I have come up with in my years of overexposure to the world.

Opinions Vary: You’re Special

opinions vary

You’re special. Doesn’t that feel good to hear? There is only one you in the whole, wide world. The feeling of being special is an innate function of the human psyche. Today we are going to examine this phenomenon through my jaded little world-view, and see where it takes us. To be honest, I’m not exactly sure where this is going to go. But this is happening. Now.

[Interview] Gaki Niccals – The Dixons

Gaki Niccals

As the self proclaimed “Zombie Czar” of Omega-Level, I’m constantly on the lookout for freshness in the genre to show off to the class. So the other day, while doing research on Tumblr about the upcoming season of AMC’s The Walking Dead I stumbled on this gem of a web comic called The Dixons. The comic traced the dark nature of fan favorites Daryl and Merle Dixon, both characters exclusive to the AMC show (but not found in the original comic). If you have not read it yet, drop everything you are doing and click here¬†or here.

I started reading, and was immediately hooked on the brooding tale of dysfunction that seemed to fit so perfectly with the show itself. I tracked down the author, and demanded answers! What I discovered was a young international prodigy on her way to greatness. Check her out after the jump. You’ll be glad you did.
