Monday Morning Commute: All Is Going According To (Someone Else’s) Plan

all is going to plan

I’m just tired today, man. I don’t know what is is, perhaps just a case of the Mondays? Or maybe I’m just feeling a bit of the ennui because there’s nothing I’m really looking forward to this week? Usually I have something to hang my hat on – a new episode of a fave show, a new comic book dropping, or at the very least, a movie to entertain my brain-box. This week, though? Nothing, man. Nothing new at least. Just the usual week. Sam’s going away Saturday for business, I’m still overeating, America’s Favorite Fascist keeps running primaries. It’s pretty much stasis for this guy.

But uh, I suppose I am digging some stuff? Maybe?

I’ll share my sweatings for the seven days coming. Then hopefully you inspire me.

This is Monday Morning Commute.

Tommy Flanainrihgan

I’m not familiar with  Tommy Flanagan, who was in the show Sons of Anarchy. But the actor will be playing a role in the second Guardians of the Galaxy movie, where he will be hunting down Rocket Raccoon.

Leak: Nintendo NX dropping in *2016* with ‘Legend of Zelda Wii U’ as its Launch Title

zelda

Man. I’m so fucking torn. Legend of Zelda Wii U was supposed to be my fucking jam on…Wii U. They’ve delayed it, delayed it, delayed it. And now! Now the motherfucker is going to be the launch title for the early-in-this-generation-cycle launching Nintendo DX? What the fuck! I ain’t had my Wii U for more than a year! But! At the same time, a new Legend of Zelda game. Do I buy this system or nah? OR NAH, OR YES? FUCK. Wait. It’s launching on the Wii U at the same time? This fucking complicates things more! Am I happy that it’s still coming out for the Wii U? Or am I furious that they’ve clearly been delaying it so it can also be a launch title for the fucking here-already NX? Fuck!

Stephen King’s ‘The Mist’ is heading to Spike TV

The Mist.

Oh yeah! Spike TV is a thing! It used to be the channel that I would watch UFC’s Ultimate Fighter on, back when I wanted to watch dudes punch one another (I still do) and listen to them bark empty platitudes about going to war and their family needing their victory (I do not) for an hour. Well, I imagine a lot of people feel like me — completely apathetic when it comes to the station. And perhaps, just perhaps, this is an effort of theirs to change that feeling.

Ubisoft attempting to prevent hostile takeover by Vivendi (former Activision owners)

Watch Dogs

Corporate warfare! Intrigue! Espionage…? I don’t know. I’m trying to make a tenuous connection between the games Ubisoft produces and its potential hostile takeover by Vivendi. But truthfully, I’m rushing, and lazy as usual.

Nintendo reveals ‘Pokémon Sun’ and ‘Pokémon Moon’ for the Nintendo 3DS

2016.4_Pokemon_Sun_and_Moon.0.0

I’m really, sort of, really feeling lately like I should play a Pokémon game. They seem addictive, RPGish, and generally fun. That said, I know fucking nothing about them. Like, why do they reveal two of the games at the same time, seemingly all the time? Do you need to buy both? Do they each offer different things? Someone teach me.

Rumor: ‘Deadpool’ sequel also featuring X-Force’s Domino

Deadpool and 2

Whatever they want to do with Deadpool 2, I’m onboard. I spent much of Deadpool‘s production and promotion questioning and disliking everything I came across.

Then I saw the movie three times.

So I’m just going to nod my head at this news in affirmation.

Weekend Open Bar: King For A Day, God For A Lifetime

weekend open bar [weekend open bar] weekend open bar [weekend open bar]

Oh come all ye degenerates, the Bar is Open. It’s the Weekend. Let us gather around the slime-soaked tavern fire, spitting whimsy and regret. Spitting about what we’re doing this weekend. Be it a movie we’re going to see, a meal we’re going to eat, a transdimensional omnisexual Manta-Beast we’re going to bang.
