Captain Marvel will be an origin story according to Kevin Feige

Captain Marvel Movie

According to Marvel Studios Czar Kevin Feige the Captain Marvel movie is going to be an origin story. While people bemoan the concept of origin stories, often rightfully so, I think it makes sense in this case. Not many motherfuckers know the tale of Carol Danvers. I mean. Right?

Probably: ‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2’ trailer coming before ‘Doctor Strange’

guardians

Not particularly news for anyone who has been paying attention, but scuttlebutt has it that GotG Vol. 2 is getting its first trailer before Doctor Strange.

‘Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3’ confirmed for MCU’s Phase 4

guardians of the galaxy

I’ve often wondered, because I’m an MCU fanboy, just what lays beyond Thanos and Marvel’s Phase 3. Well, no matter what, no matter the despair and death laid out by Thanos, we will be getting another Guardians of the Galaxy movie after the culmination of the MCU thus far.

Rumor: Marvel’s ‘Inhumans’ movie has been cancelled

Remember like last month, when it was announced Kevin Feige had assumed True Ultimate Power over the MCU? And we all gazed at the Abyss and wondered what it would mean? Well — if rumors are true — the first sign of Feige’s newfound dominance is the cancellation of the Inhumans movie.

Marvel Studios’ “Creative Committee” has disbanded, but I ain’t sweating it

Marvel Studios.

Lots of restructuring going around in Marvel Studios this week. First it was announced that Kevin Feige more/less seized complete control of Marvel Studios from Isaac Perlmutter. Perlmutter being known for, you know, saying women don’t enjoy superhero flicks or need action figures. So I was like, okay, cool. And now comes news that Marvel Studios’ “Creative Committee” is being disbanded. Initial thoughts? I don’t really fucking care. At this point (seven years in), I’m willing to accept whatever Shepherd Feige has in mind for the MCU. He’s earned enough goodwill to buy my good faith thrice over, especially if reports of the “Creative Committee” was more a source of frustration for the minds behind than MCU than anything else. TL;DR – I trust Feige, let him have the MCU.

Kevin Feige gains more control over Marvel Studios after company restructuring

Kevin Feige

I clearly am not up to date with my Marvel Studios Backstage Machinations. I, perhaps naively, just sort of assumed Kevin Feige did what he wanted when it came to the studio. But apparently he was like, answering to some guy. That he didn’t like. But now he isn’t? Is this a good thing? I don’t know. As I said. I am clearly not up to date with the machinations. But I trust Feige, so wee. How do you feel about it?

No Duh: Kevin Feige confirms The Wasp will be in Marvel Cinematic Universe

Evangeline Lilly

We don’t know who exactly is going to play Wasp in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Obvious bet is Evangeline Lilly as Hope van Dyne. But what we do know is that The Wasp (whomever she is) will be in the MCU. Cause like, why wouldn’t Marvel Studios use all their assets?

Kevin Feige Promises: Marvel Cinematic Universe will never have a “dark turn”

Kevin Feige

I’m fucking holding you to this, Feige. Holding you to this! Despite my misgivings about the current direction of the MCU (justified, or not, hopefully not), I love this pledge.

Martin Freeman joins ‘Captain America: Civil War,’, I officially worry

Martin Freeman.

Martin Freeman has joined Captain America: Dawn of Justice. I’m fatigued. I tap. The solo movies were supposed to be a respite from the mania of the Avengers movies. And now this flick seems corporate-designed to compete with the upcoming Batman v. Superman. While it may end up being awesome, I’m beginning to worry about a) my own feelings towards superhero movies and b) the future of the MCU.

No Duh: ‘Spider-Man’ flick will star Peter Parker, according to Kevin Feige

Amazing Spider-Man #2.

I am one of those folk who really wanted Miles Morales to join the MCU, now that Marvel has joint (wink, wink) custody of Spider-Man once again. But yeah, I never held my breath.
