Report: ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ adding Cate Blanchett as new female lead
On occasion I refer to my belief that the SuperheroLeviathanBastardBeast will be endlessly consuming the entire list of A-List actors, vomiting them out one by one into movie after movie. With Cate Blanchett being added to Thor: Ragnarok, I continue to feel confident in my prediction. But, fuck. I dig this as a fanboy.

Irrational Games (‘BioShock’) hiring for “narrative first-person shooter” project
After BioShock Infinite, Ken Levine announced that he was taking his talents (and his studio) in a different direction. And while it’s probably too early to judge, I’m going to anyways! Levine’s company is hiring for a “narrative first-person shooter”, which. You know. Sounds a lot like BioShock. IDFK?
‘Star Wars’ Spinoff News: They Won’t All Be Prequels. Futzing good.
One of the most disappointing things about the Grand Resurrection of the StarWars Capitalist Big Rig is that the movies that have been revealed don’t seem to be tilling much new ground. Disney owns an entire universe, but they have seemed comfortable enough sitting in the same sandbox. I get it. Established iconography, easily marketable properties. I get it. But, I cannot imagine myself the only one who wants to see Lucasfilm and the Mouse spread their wings and expand, as opposed to masturbate, the StarWars Mythos. And while nothing is confirmed, or revealed, or certain, it seems that some of those standalone movies will (maybe) give me those new stories I hanker for.

Oh man. This is the berries. This is the berries glazed with a thick coat of awesomeness. The creator of Mr. Robot, Sam Esmail, is going to be bringing his auteur-ass-baller-vision to the director chair for every single episode of the show’s second season.

I know it is an easy joke, made by many. But I really don’t know The BFG outside of lighting dickheads up in Quake III Arena. I imagine it is a very lovely book, and this may very well be a very lovely movie.
Lucasfilm President says ‘Star Wars 1313’ game may not be dead. Sort of.
Lucasfilm Czar Kathleen Kennedy has come out and muttered some words regarding the cancelled WarStar game, Star Wars 1313. Most people are signaling her words to mean the game isn’t dead, but. But! It seems like all these people are extrapolating a lot out of a very vague statement. Wishful minds, yo.
