Lucasfilm President says ‘Star Wars 1313’ game may not be dead. Sort of.

Star Wars 1313

Lucasfilm Czar Kathleen Kennedy has come out and muttered some words regarding the cancelled WarStar game, Star Wars 1313. Most people are signaling her words to mean the game isn’t dead, but. But! It seems like all these people are extrapolating a lot out of a very vague statement. Wishful minds, yo.

UPROXX:

One of the unfortunate side-effects of the purchase of Lucasfilm was Disney’s decision to unceremoniously shut down LucasArts, the video game publishing arm of Lucasfilm responsible for countless Star Wars games and point-and-click adventure classics like Monkey Island and Grim Fandango. This put the kibosh on several in-development games like the promising Star Wars 1313.

Most assumed that anything LucasArts made would be permanently buried in some dusty back corner of the Disney Vault after the purchase, but that hasn’t exactly been the case. Disney has given Tim Schafer and Double Fine the go-ahead to make remastered versions of Grim Fandango, Day of the Tentacle and Full Throttle, and apparently they’re even looking into revivingStar Wars 1313. Here’s Lucasfilm head Kathleen Kennedy touching on the game in a interview with /Film:

“There was 1313 the game […] we don’t want to throw any of that stuff away. It’s gold. And it’s something we’re spending a lot of time looking at, pouring through, discussing, and we may very well develop those things further. We definitely want to do something.”
