Cosplay: Steampunk PRINCESS PEACH is your retro-alt lovely lady.
Goodness me, yes. Here is a lovely rendition of Princess Peach as a Steampunk damsel.
Joss Whedon has submitted his ‘AVENGERS 2’ outline. Oh to read that!
I imagine myself. As I use the powers of imagination, I picture a sweat-slicked chest, heaving in. Heaving out. I have stolen the top secret Avengers 2 outline from Whedon’s bed side after he and I had a tickle fight. I won, but he wasn’t resentful. After passing into a calm repose, Joss rolls over. I spy it on his bed stand. It can’t be! Can it? I grab it. It is. Or so I imagine.
‘STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS’ REGULAR & JAPANESE TRAILERS: They will make your Benedict…oh whatever.
Real talk: I am posting this before rushing quickly to work, so I haven’t seen these trailers. Uh, enjoy the two of them. Leave your comments. I hope to see them later in the day.
Next ‘MASS EFFECT 3’ DLC has all the creators back together. Or something.
Yeah, I bought Mass Effect 3: Omega. No, it wasn’t worth the fifteen dollars. Though, it was enjoyable. So fuck yes you bet your bottom dollar that I won’t learn my lesson when the next piece of ME DLC drops.
Cosplay: Before she was a captain, Ms. Marvel was blazing.
All Carol Danvers Everything up in this house! I love the love that lovers are lathering her with lately.
Take Five in Honor of Dave Brubeck
Dave Brubeck, influential jazz musician, passed away today at 91. An artist known for experimenting with time signatures, Brubeck created his own signature contribution to jazz with the Dave Brubeck Quartet’s Time Out, an album that soared to number 2 on the pop charts, making it one of the best-selling works in the genre. And, in this case, for very good reason too: The album is fantastic. It’s filled with memorable and lively compositions that most people, regardless of their propensity for jazz, have heard before. And no Brubeck tune is more intricately woven into the fabric of jazz and our culture than “Take Five,” a work that simply exudes cool (and was composed by the rad saxophonist Paul Desmond). So do yourself a favor: hit the jump, sit back, and take five in the man’s honor. Not only do you deserve it, but Brubeck does as well.
First Look: HARRISON FORD in ‘ENDER’S GAME.’ Are you excite?
I’m one of those assholes who still hasn’t read Ender’s Game, despite The Dude lending me his copy. What I did do was assuredly banish his copy to some Black Hole somewhere, after it slipped out from my car’s back seat and into infinity. Sorry dude! I love you. For those who are down with The Game, here is a first look at Harry Ford in the movie.
The Dude’s High 5s: Ways I learned about WWII
What if I told you we’re going to be attacked in two days? Would you believe me? I can’t tell the future, but I can tell the past. Wait, is it read the past or tell the past? Anyway, if you knew that an attack was imminent on this date in 1941, you’d be a hero … or more probably be arrested, imprisoned, and questioned as a spy. World War II is one of the pivotal moments in Earth’s history. It was a global event that nearly every country that exists today was effected by it. In high school, I couldn’t have been more disinterested in learning about this event. I think it was because I had history teachers that were bad at teaching history. However, I rebounded. I managed to piece together a working knowledge of how this event went down. Here’s how.
Buy These F**king Comics! – Dec 5, 2012: Hawkeye’s Quiver Burns Like Hell
Welcome to Buy These F**king Comics!, the column where all of us goobers get together and share the funny books we’re interested in buying in a given week. There is nothing so magical as hitting the shelves on Hump Day and snagging some comics to drag our wayward asses through the final two days of drudgery. Except maybe winning the PowerBall. That seems really magical. Plus, if I won it I wouldn’t have to scrape gum-covered quarters off the inside of trash cans to buy my comic books. Shit, that sounds pretty neat. Okay, so buying comic books is second in the line of majestic happenings. But it’s a close race. So, uh. Yeah. Again, welcome to the column. If I don’t mention your favorite weekly drop, let me know it in the comments section. If you are one of those booger-eating maestros who is too busy attempting to calculate the enormity of the Multiverse to know what is coming out this week, hit up Comic List. It’ll do you good.
