Netflix paying $450 Million for ‘Knives Out’ 2 & 3. Director Rian Johnson and star Daniel Craig returning!
Man, good on you, Rian Johnson. After getting absolutely pilloried for The Last Jedi, you returned with the fantastic Knives Out. Now, that movie’s success has been parlayed into a $450 million deal with Netflix for two sequels. Mamma fucking mia, that’s a lot of Junior Bacon Cheeseburgers!
Rian Johnson fucking rules. I never thought this would be a controversial opinion, but here we are. Wallowing in the post-The Last Jedi Hellscape. Anyways, Johnson is returning to his detective haunts, and he’s bringing Daniel Craig with him.
Rian Johnson says he has “no limitations” when it comes to creating his new Star Wars trilogy. I know the cynics are going to throw the “Bullshit” flag, but I’m going to be stoked. I’m glad to see Lucasfilm finally letting dope creators create in their sandbox.
Holy fuck, friends. Not only are the UberCzars at Lucasfilm happy with Rian Johnson, they’re apparently really happy. How do we know this? Well, they’ve given him the opportunity to develop his own new Star Wars trilogy. Like, outside the Skywalker Saga. His own thing. As someone who has bitched about Lucasfilm just regurgitating the Greatest Hits, I can’t help but be torqued by this news. Finally, something new coming down the pipe.
Crawl complete! Apparently Rian Johnson had to wait until the official reveal of Episode VIII‘s title before he could add it to the opening crawl. With the reveal…revealed, the director popped that son of a bitch in today.
We hungry out here! Hungry for some fucking Episode VIII news. Starving. So yeah, we’re going to eat up this fucking non-news. Did you know that Episode VIII is going to be “funny” and “a ride”? No? Yes? Either case! Gobble gobble, fellow Star Wars slobs.
After the jump, spoilerphobes!
Fuck, this movie is too far away.
Looks like we’re going to be seeing some Maz Kanata up in Episode VIII, if a teased image from Rian Johnson is any indication. Which, I believe it to be.
Is this image really anything? No. But is it something that will attempt to satiate my lust for Episode VIII news even a little? Maybe.
