Marvel reveals ‘Civil War II’ comic event coming next year; cause movie synergy or something
Ugh. Just like, ugh. I know that it makes sense for Marvel to run a “Civil War” event next year, during the time that the movie of the same name will drop. But man, as a reader, it just doesn’t do much for me. I understand that the comic books are an idea-factory to come up with concepts for the movies, but sometimes you just don’t want to see the machinery in such stark relief.
Art: ‘Mega Man X’ reimagined as modern game
Some froggy fresh artwork from TJ Townsend, who has reimagined Mega Man X as a modern game. I find it particularly sweet, since the aforementioned title has been owning me on a weekly basis. Goddamn, MMX is difficult. Goddamn, I need to try it sober.
There’s a video of the art’s creation, too! After the jump.
‘Final Fantasy VII Remake’ is going to be “multi-part” series. So like, episodic? Wark?
Hmm. Here is a bit of a wrinkle here, to the Final Fantasy VII Remake drama. Maybe you’re one of those people not upset with the changes to the combat system (hi! I like the changes!), and you’re feeling left out. You feel like you deserve something to huff and puff and fanboy fume about, too. Well, good news, fan looking for faux-outrage to glom onto. Square has announced that the FFVII:Remake is going to be “multi-part” — and I don’t know which of the next two options I hate more.
PlayStation 2 games have launched on PlayStation 4; but you have to futzing pay for them
C’mon, Sony. C’mon! Microsoft is dropping backwards compatibility on the XB1, and you have responded with this half-assed nonsense. Whereas Microsoft is allowing you to play (granted, last generation’s) old XBOX games on your new rig, you’re charging us to play PS2 games on the PS4 that we already own. If there are technical reasons (asides from, “hey, we spiffed them up!”), I understand it. But if it’s just raw capitalism (and listen, I get it), you’re beginning to stink like the arrogance MicroKing of last generation who squeezed every last 360-Dollar out of my bank account.
Watch: ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Screen Test has Chris Pratt cracking up Dave Bautista
Marvel has dropped a Guardians of the Galaxy screen test, featuring the eventual Star-Lord and Drax. The two of them riff pretty well, with Pratt still looking a bit Andy Dwyer (god bless, rest in peace), and Bautista looking…smaller? Or at least grayer.
‘Rez Infinite’ Trailer: Coming to PlayStation VR and PS4
Oh man, Sony not playing fair. They know I ain’t buying no sort of PlayStation VR, or at least I’m holding out. So how do they tempt me? Throw Rez up in them offerings. The idea of being fully immersed in Rez‘s world is so tempting. Fuck. They fucked up though, offering it for PlayStation 4, as well. I can do it. I can hold out.
Filmmaker Ryan Coogler (Creed, Fruitvale Station) directing Marvel’s Black Panther movie
Ah! This is a legit free agent signing for Marvel. The Studio has snagged the director of the wonderful Creed and the powerful Fruitvale Station, Ryan Coogler, to helm their Black Panther movie. Tremendous move. It’s not “official” yet, but goddamn is it ever looking close.
