‘Mass Effect: Andromeda’ lead writer leaving BioWare to return to Bungie
What the fuck? Man. I want ME4 to be good so hard. So hard! So hard, that this news really concerns me. The optimist within this meat-shell hopes this is just a case of Chris Schlerf returning to Bungie because he missed the joint and they made him a sizable offer to save Destiny. Not, you know, him abandoning a ship of dumpster-fire ruin.
Monday Morning Commute: Lock and Load for the Cyber-Scum
Welcome to Monday Morning Commute, scum-lords. It’s a fairly nondescript week for me. Nothing really coming up. Maybe seeing a flick with the BetterHalf. Listening to TheMusic. Spending time in VideoGameWorld. Some weeks the world pops, with a litany of excitement awaiting me. Some weeks the world drags, offering up nothing special in the way of respite from the grind.
’10 Cloverfield Lane’ Trailer #2: I’m Going To Keep You Alive
Out of all the people I know, I’m the one that enjoyed Cloverfield the most. I’m an easy mark for found footage, monsters, and attractive people being gutted and harvested to grow Monsters. So I’m understandably excited for this spiritual spin-off.
‘Dark Souls’ Streamer Beats Game Without Taking A Hit
I actually caught this last night, thanks to a NeoGaf thread. A Dark Souls streamer beat the game without taking a fucking hit. Now, I’ve never played the game. But I’ve been told that it is hard as fuck. It was a wild moment to watch, as he waded into the final boss battle, with 4,000 of us watching. No pressure, right? And dude did it. Dude did it.
‘Predator’ Teaser Image: You’ll Never See (This Tease) Coming
So, Predator is still a movie-thing. I had sort of completely forgotten that another installment was in the works. I will almost certainly forget once again by tomorrow.
‘Midnight Special’ Trailer: Nichols Channels Spielberg for Our Benefit
I can’t really figure out what Midnight Special is about. It’s like, Jeff Nichols doing something very Spielberg-esque. Beyond that, though, I have no idea regarding the movie’s plot. I think I’m okay with this.
Fans are remaking ‘Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic’
Apparently fans are doing what no one at BioWare (or a third-party BioWare could whore the project out to) seems interested in doing: remaking Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. I mean, it seems like a license to print money. Doesn’t it? But hey — these folk are doing it on the free.
Rumor: Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury returning for ‘Thor: Ragnarok’
Sam Jackson only has two movies left on his Marvel contract, and yet. And yet, there are rumors that he’ll be appearing in Thor: Ragnarok. This news means, at least to me, that he’s going to be getting himself a contract-extension. I mean, right? Otherwise, they’re burning up one of his last two appearances on a Thor flick? (Don’t get me wrong, cool news and all.)
