Oh shit oh shit oh shit oh shit.
Lucasfilm has said they have no plans for digitally recreating Leia in Episode VIII or Episode IX. Which is fucking fantastic news. Both due to the respect shown, and also because Digital Leia looked fucking *terrible* in Rogue One.
We hungry out here! Hungry for some fucking Episode VIII news. Starving. So yeah, we’re going to eat up this fucking non-news. Did you know that Episode VIII is going to be “funny” and “a ride”? No? Yes? Either case! Gobble gobble, fellow Star Wars slobs.
John Williams is still alive? Are we sure he isn’t in cryogenic storage, and they unfreeze him whenever they need to pose him as he “composes” another Lucasfilm movie? Are you sure? ‘Cause I ain’t.
Looks like we’re going to be seeing some Maz Kanata up in Episode VIII, if a teased image from Rian Johnson is any indication. Which, I believe it to be.
Is this image really anything? No. But is it something that will attempt to satiate my lust for Episode VIII news even a little? Maybe.
This is where we are, regarding the insanity that is Star Wars. A teaser announcing the production for the next movie. And like, it’s probably obvious (given that I’ve seen The Force Awakens six times), but I’m all about it. Oh! The LordsofHype at DisneyStarFlick have also provided an official cast announcement.
Those of us like me who have been counting down to Episode VIII are going to need to add a couple hundred days to the counter. The sequel to The Force Awakens has been pushed back from May to December of 2017. Me? I’m fine with this for a couple of reasons. First off: give the people involved the most time possible to put out the highest quality product. Second off: having Star Wars hitting around Christmas time every year makes an already special season glow just a bit more. So hey. I’m not particularly devastated. It will make its arrival just that much sweeter.
Episode VIII is bringing with it more key female leads. We have known this for a while, and this site’s shitty echochamber has perpetuated some of the rumors regarding the actresses being considered. Well, why should we stop now?! It appears that Bel Powley is now being considered.
Don’t forget. The Force Awakens ain’t just the return of Star Wars, its the kick-off for the annual extraction of Forceful dollars from all of us Star Wars fanboys. And while there are anthology movies coming and such, it’s the “Skywalker Saga” that is the beefiest proposition for me. And just as Episode VII looms, the Episode VIII script has been finished.
