Press Start: Kinect Can See Your Balls. And Its Laughing.
I build my column with a (puerile) brick. Then add another brick. Brick by brick I manufacture juvenile columns where the news in gaming goes. What’s up friends. Enemies. Catty Tumblr fighters. This is Press Start!, the column where shit that was the happenin’ in gaming in the previous week gets noted. Blathered about.
I encourage, nay demand!, that you spit your own happenings into the comments box’s mouth.

Uranus’ Tilt Is From A Double-Whupping Upside Its Head.
Astronomi-wizards have long been trying to figure out why Uranus is tilted over on its side. Late night partying? Existential vertigo? Or perhaps a comet-based beat down. By not one, but two rough riders.

Fear Fest: Clowns Aren’t Scary. They’re Murderers and Nightmares.
OCTOBER 7th, Clowns
“I had a friend who was a clown. When he died, all his friends went to the funeral in one car.”
-Steven Wright
Hello again friends. Here we are, closing out the first week of fear. Today’s fear is something that I had to conquer as a child. Coulrophobia (Coulro- prefix is Greek for “Stilt Walker”) is the fear of clowns. Its acceptance into published works is slowed by its difficulty to prove. While it’s not in any clinical textbooks, and is more recognized on the internet than in published works, I can attest that it is a real fear.
New ‘Superman’ Set-Photos Have Clark Kent Going Scruffy Beatnik.

There’s some new set-photos out of the Superman filming camp. Nothing too spoilery, though it does have our Clark Kent looking a bit rough around the edges.
Potential spoilers beyond the jump!
OCTOBERFEAST – Brach’s Autumn Mix
[OCTOBERFEAST is the greatest celebration of the year, a revelry dedicated to pop-culture’s most nutritious Halloween detritus. Plastic screams and artificial sweeteners have never been more bountiful. In the old country, villagers refer to the extended party as Satan’s Snacktime]
While Satan’s Snacktime is rooted in traditions of terror, it’s also dedicated to progress. Lookin’ ahead. Celebratin’ the future we call now. As such, the 2011 edition of OCTOBERFEAST will be known as a great revelry of inclusivity. After all, segregation sucks. Even in the candy world.
When autumn hits, all sorts of muthafuggahs be snackin’ on candy corn. And I don’t blame `em, cause that shit is delicious. You’ll never catch me complaining about festively-shaped handfuls of pure sugar. So if it’s candy corn that you include as part of the sacrificial dowry necessary for entrance into the OCTOBERFEAST, you’ll be admitted.
But if you roll up with a couple of bags of Autumn Mix, you’ll be commended by ghouls and ghosts and she-bitches alike.
‘Avenging Spider-Man’ #1 To Include Free Digital Copy. One Way To Do Things.
You like holding the pages of a comic book in your greasy paws. Yet you also wish you could pack it up and tote it with easy access. You enjoy buying albums, but you like ripping them onto your iPod. You! You my friend are going to like what Marvel is doing with Avenging Spider-Man #1.
American Horror Story: Pilot
It’s still too early to tell if American Horror Story, the new show from Glee co-creators Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, is going to be good or a messy pile of shit. After the pilot the only thing that can be said is that it’s definitely uninhibited in a latex gimp sort of way. The direction the gimp is going to take us down is still incoherent though, the show’s pace was a little too swift to allow any real storyline to reveal itself. I thought most of the bits that were supposed to be shocking were just silly – the downs girl says “you’re gonna die” hurrr, there’s a gimp suit in the attic hurrr – but overall it was a fun, disorientating pilot that delivered some mysteries right outta the gate. And screw it, I like mysteries.
