Extended ‘Green Lantern’ TV Spot Got New Footage For You.
The Green Lantern hype train is beginning to kick into overdrive. A new extended TV spot that premiered during American Idol and 30 Rock on Thursday evening had itself some new footage.

‘X-Men: First Class’ International Trailer Got New Footage, Special Effects.
Marvel’s dropped a new X-Men: First Class international trailer on our comic asses. On top of some new footage, it offers a look at the special effects of the movie. If you’re familiar with the flick, you know they’re fucking cutting and shooting and ripping up the special effects as we speak, trying to churn this pig out in time. Hopefully the mayhem and the energy needed to get this out will translate onto the big screen.

‘Green Lantern’ Movie Gets Two Character Posters.
My excitement for the Green Lantern went up a good deal after witnessing the footage from Wondercon. I ain’t dumb enough to deny that it may be simply the product of a well-cut trailer, corralling the dopest contents of the movie into four minutes.
But let me be excited!
Today, two character posters for the movie were released on the movie’s Facebook page.
Thor’s Post-Credit Scene Reveals Villain of ‘The Avengers’ Flick. Maybe.
Ah, the soon to be officially ciché Marvel movies post-credits scene. Yep. Just stick Samuel Jackson in some shitty forty-second scene in with something leading up to the Avengers flick. They’ve been doing it for three years, there isn’t any reason to stop now. Apparently, purportedly, the post-credits scene in Thor tips off the villain for The Avengers.

This is Variant Covers! Every week I humbly show you the titles that I’m excited for on Wednesday, and I ask you to kindly splay yours out in front of me. It’s a nice pow wow in front of the paneled ponderings and the like. This week though, I’m not really feeling anything. Oh sure, there’s a list of titles that I’ll be buying, and probably even enjoying. Nothing that’s really getting my fires burning though. So indulge me, let’s play a game this week. I have a good amount of anxiety regarding the superhero flick during and after the 2012 release schedule. In my fair estimation, we’re going to be fucking fatigued with the whole enterprise. More so than we are now. However, Marvel doesn’t share my concern. Marvel Studios president Kevin Fergie recently spoke about the sequels to their unreleased Cap and Thor movies, and more.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Marion Cotillard’s Roles In ‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Announced!
Warner Bros. has gone up and announced the roles that JGL and Marion Cotillard will be playing in “The Dark Knight Rises.” Either all the rumors have been very, very wrong, or there will be some double identities afoot. Which would make sense, given, you know, the universe.

Bryan Singer Cops To ‘Superman Returns’ Sucking. Sort Of.
I thought that ‘Superman Returns’ sucked. I thought it was bogged down with an insistence to paying homage instead of carving its own identity, typical existential ennui bullshit Singer loves, and the need to give (Jesus Christ,why?) Superman a kid.
All these years later, Bryan Singer sort of agrees.

It’s not usually a struggle for me to pick my favorite comic of the week. More often than not, a single funnybook will stand out, whether because of an incredible story, moving visuals, or some other quality. But on more fortuitous weeks, I’ll be presented the wonderful dilemma of having multiple candidates in my stack o’ panels. This is one such week.
And since both contestants are so damn appealing, I’m going to give both of them the grand prize! Open the vault, Seymour, these two are both going to spend a fabulous week at Images & Words! See, isn’t it great when one’s success isn’t defined by some other sap’s failure?! Ta-dah! Pop the champagne and slap a stripper’s ass! Huzzah!
Butcher Baker: The Righteous Maker #2 and Casanova: Gula IV are both phenomenal books and you should buy them. As soon as possible, dingbat! Don’t sit on your ass! Oh, what’s that, you want to know why they’re worth your hard(ly) earned cash?
