As much as I despise Jim Lee’s outdated swag, I’m surprisingly a fan of the new Superman outfit. Chitin armor, turtleneck, no underwear and all. Not down with the new look is Pastor Skye Jethani.

Marvel Releases Covers For ‘Uncanny X-Men” #1 and #2. Hilariously Bad.
Marvel’s revealed the covers to Uncanny X-Men #1 and #2, both by Carlos Pacheco. They’re pretty crap. I mean seriously what the fuck is Cyclops doing in that first cover.

I don’t read none of them Avengers books. Don’t like them. Don’t care about them. Marvel knows this, and they aren’t playing fair. They’re adding Daniel Acuña to Avengers proper starting with issue #18, and his artwork is enough to get me to buy the rag.

Game of Thrones Creator Praises Marvel For Killing Characters. Not The Same At All, George.
I love George R. R. Martin. He brought me one of my favorite artistic wankeries in years, in the form of both the Game of Thrones books and television shows. So I respect the man. Yet it’s a bit off. He praises Marvel for killing off important characters, while failing to notice and important comic book trope that undercuts everything.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt Asked Directly About Robin, Plays It Coy. Atta Boy.
JGL continues to keep hope alive for me. I want me a Robin in Dark Knight Rises. Listen man, I’m not talking about some circus motherfucker. I’m talking about a Nolanized version of the character. Simply put: someone who can don the cowl and continue the symbolism that Wayne created in the first movie.
JGL was asked about Robin, and boy did he play a fun game of equivocation.
Supergirl’s Relaunch In The DC ‘New 52’ Is Working The ‘Hunger Games’ Crowd. I’m Interested.
USA Today has some artwork from this week’s Supergirl #1, along with an interview with the comic’s co-writers. They have an interesting bent on the Supergirl character. A character that I’ve never really been interested in, but after reading them talk about her?

‘Batman Incorporated’ Returns In December. Bat-Schwing.
Batman Incorporated is returning this December. This has me very excited, since I love my Morrison draped in a cowl these days. Upon its return it’s promising to kick-off a storyline that is the culmination of six years of Morrison’s work. G’damn.
New Marvel Teaser: ‘Defeat the FF, Save The World!’
Marvel’s dropped a new teaser for the awkward, awfully named Fear Itself: The Fearless. Like, really? Clunky a-go-go. Brakes! I’m pumping them. It’s also written by Matt Fraction, and it has Valkyrie wanting to cut down the FF to save the world.

Openly Gay Character Added To DC’s Relaunched ‘Teen Titans’. Comics Diversity Arms Race.
Well here’s an arms race I’m okay with. Just after Marvel added a multiethnic Spider-Man to their (Ultimate) universe, DC is adding Miguel Jose Barragan to the relaunched Teen Titans. Barragan is openly gay, and according to his creators is much more comfortable with his sexuality than the other gay and lesbian characters of the DCU.
