‘UNCHARTED’ writer Amy Henning is now new ‘STAR WARS’ game’s creative director
I’m going to go ahead and say this now. Write it in digital stone. The next Star Wars game is going to rule. Drawing inspiration from the Batman: Arkham Games. Being spearheaded by Amy Hennig. This is fucking awesome.
‘FINAL FANTASY VI’ came out 20 YEARS AGO Today. My love for Umaro still burns.
Final Fantasy VI dropped twenty years ago today in Japan. Dios mio, where did the time go? I love you, FFVI. If anything, I love you more than I had even realized. You see, I recently bought the Final Fantasy X HD remake and realized I despised pretty much everything about the game in retrospect. My fond memories vaporized in a Hellfire Barrage of terrible voice acting, horrid characters, and tonally confusing moments. Yet, Final Fantasy VI sustains. I replayed through nearly fifteen hours of the game just six months ago, finding myself still taken with the world. The beauty. The sasquatch. Cheers, FFVI. Stay golden.
‘TRAILER PARK BOYS’ SEASON 8 TRAILER: F**kin’ Eh!, The Boys Are Back
I cannot be more excited about the new seasons of Trailer Park Boys dropping on Netflix. Sure the quality of the show waned over its initial run, but in some completely unhealthy way I grew to love and intertwine myself around the souls of my fictional fellow Nova Scotians. Their return makes whole some broken sector of my rotting psyche. This preview had me losing it, and if you don’t like it you can plunge a stick of dynamite up your ass and go throw yourself to the Winds of Shit.
Buy These Flippin’ Comics!!! (4.02.14) – Tinker, Tailor, Winter Soldier, Spidey
Where will you be Thursday at midnight? Will it be at the first screening of Captain America 2: Patriot Hard With A Vengeance? Or must you be like me and wait until the schedule clears out and time permits? Oh yeah, a full list of books released this week can be found HERE.
‘PORTAL’ co-creator KIM SWIFT joins Amazon Game Studios
Amazon Game Studios. There’s a good chance I never take them seriously because I’m a fat headed gaming snob. However, if I ever do, it’s probably going to be because of talent like Portal co-creator Kim Swift. Oh, and Clint Hocking.
‘LUCY’ Trailer: ScarJo kicks super-powered ass
A Luc Besson movie where Scarlett Johansson doles out unfathomable amounts of super-powered ass kickings? Yup. Sold. Sold twice.
Amazon reveals their set-top box, “FIRE TV.” $99. Sort of GAMING CONSOLE too.
A new challenger has entered the arena! It seems that everybody, everybody, everybody is in the set-top box game! Amazon’s swaggerlicious little ditty is called “Fire TV”, and if anything it’s pretty cheap.
‘EPISODE VII’ NEWS: First shooting in MOROCCO. On MAY 14.
So like, Episode VII is going to begin filming in five fucking weeks. And yet!, and yet friends. We still don’t know anything about the goddamn flick. No official casting, no subtitle, no idea whether or not Carrie Fisher is going to be hanging rack in her original Leia outfit. But I guess we can at least sate ourselves on where and when filming will begin.
Toby Kebbell is DOCTOR DOOM in the ‘FANTASTIC FOUR’ reboot
You know, for once, I’m stymied. I don’t have anything to say. Toby Kebbell is Doctor Doom in the new Fantastic Four, and I don’t have anything to add. Don’t know the guy. Don’t have a problem with his face. (And yes owing to mental illness sometimes people’s faces just fucking annoy me.) So there’s that! Welcome, Toby.
Monday Morning Commute: Oh, I’ll Tell You About the Goddamn Rabbits.
Aloha!
Welcome to the MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE! What do we do here? Well, we discuss the various bites of nonsense we’ll be crammin’ into our skull-holes. Why do we have to do this? Well, if we don’t surround our brain-bones with inspiring, ridiculous, entertaining detritus, then there’s a chance that the bad vibes might get in. And bad vibes are to minds what termites are to wood.
You remember what the termites did to Grampy’s pirate leg, right?
So hop into the frenzy and show off what you’ll be doin’ this week!
