Kid Snorts Ritalin To Continue Xbox 360 Binge, Ends Up In Hospital. Go Figure.

Man, I feel like I’m a bit of an irresponsible dude with the amount of caffeine I crush. It’s a general move, designed to keep the demons away, the voices quaint. I have nothing on this kid, who decided that snorting Ritalin would be the most proper way to continue his gaming marathon. Not surprised it didn’t end particularly well.

Fox Stopping 35mm Print Distribution, Going Completely Digital In Hong Kong Next Year.

I remember when the first Star Wars prequel was being filmed, one of the things Fat Lucas blathered on about was the advent of digital film. I’m sure he made some ludicrous statement like it was going to be everywhere in five years or something (this in 1999), and it was one of many promises not kept. Still though, it has proliferated and is becoming more and more prominent. A testament to this is the announcement by Fox that they’re going entirely digital in Hong Kong next year.

Variant Covers: Spiders, Red Wings, and Frankenstein’s Monsters.

Every Wednesday I’m granted a brief reprieve from the quiet of my own mind. Every Wednesday in the form of images and words I’m given a myriad of different Universes to momentarily inhabit. Bulging muscles and metaphysical pontifications. Heroics and psychological demons. Every week. What a gift.

This is Variant Covers. Comic book column. The comics I’m snagging on a given week, or stoked upon. What are you reading? I’m interested.

A lot of the minds behind OL have a serious crush on Ryan Gosling and  director  Nicolas Winding Refn. While the Coops has long since known Refn was legit, Rendar and myself were recently converted via Bronson. So while I don’t make a habit of posting posters for random movies, fuck it. Here’s the French poster for Drive.

Well, now it’s really maybe sort of coming. So says  Rodriguez.

Marvel Releases Second Teaser For ‘4’. FF #600 Hype Train Much?

Marvel’s released a second teaser for ‘4’. I’m going to go ahead and throw my coins in with the lot that believes this is all part of a building hype train for Fantastic Four #600. If that is the case, it’s going to be curious to see if they’re going to run F4 in tandem with Future Foundation, fold one into the other, or have FF #600 and then continue on with the regular numbering. Thing I’m pretty certain of: this isn’t going to be the return of J. Storm. Not yet.
