‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Teaser Poster Is Here. Oh Yes.

Last night I made the mistake of rolling into bed around 10:30. I don’t know when I became such an old bastard, but I need my sleep. When I awoke today and browsed the interwebz in traffic, I discovered to my horror that whilst I slept there was an official teaser poster for The Dark Knight Rises released.

You’ve already seen it a thousand times, but here it is anyways.

Monday Morning Commute: Scream Sayonara!

Ahoy! Welcome to the MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE – this is the spot where I share the bits of entertainment detritus that I’ll be rolling in over the course of the next few days! ‘Fear Itself’ Continues Ripping Off ‘Blackest Night’ With The Mighty.

I acknowledge that all comic book storylines are a bit incestuous. There’s only so many world-beaters you can tackle and events you can make the best of before everything stars to bleed together. The animated adaptation of Frank Miller and David Mazzucchelli’s classic Batman defining tale has gotten itself a trailer. It’s hard to adapt the son of a bitch into anything, but it seems to be relatively dope. Within the parameters and everything, it could work.

Save for Wayne’s voice. Youch.

Hit the jump to check it out.

[images & words is the comic book pick-of-the-week at OL. equal parts review and diatribe, the post highlights the most memorable/infuriating/entertaining book released that wednesday]

As of late, it seems that all comics-related discussions are concerned with the crumbling state of the industry. Headlines of doom and gloom are absolutely proliferating, inspiring fear in otherwise satisfied fanboys. DC REBOOT BLAMED FOR NERD SUICIDE! MARVEL MEGA-EVENT BANKRUPTS SINGLE FATHER OF FOUR! DIGITAL SALES THREATEN RETAILERS’ BUSINESS!

In the midst of all this bullshit, it’s easy to forget that worthwhile comics are being released every damn week.

And the newest issue of Jonah Hex is a necessary reminder of just how sick comic books can be.
