Dwayne Johnson: ‘Shazam’ movie could be released early
The Rock is teasing us folks, hinting that his Shazam movie could be released earlier than scheduled. Hmm. I’m torn between my near-militant disdain for the DCU and my near-zealot level of love for The Rock.
Cary Fukunaga leaves adaptation of Stephen King’s ‘It’ over budget cuts
Bummer. After True Detective, I’m looking forward to anything Cary Fukunaga is working on. And it ain’t like he doesn’t have a huge slate of upcoming projects, but the idea of seeing him adaptation a classic was intriguing as fuck.
Apple wants live and local programming for its TV service
Looks like Apple TV has the potential to be more than expected. The company is apparently interested in more than just cutting deals with cable and premium channels, and is looking to get into the local programming game. For uh, those seven people who still watch the nightly news.
Monday Morning Commute: (Sgt.) Slaughter of the Soul!
Happy Memorial Day to ya’ll living within the Empire! As a child, most of my worldview was shaped by the World Wrestling Federation. And to be honest, I’m almost positive I’m better for it. And one thing I learned is that those who turn their back on their country are thick-jawed, dastardly pieces of shit. (Like Sgt. Slaughter.) Don’t be a Sgt. Slaughter. Give big ups to those who have served in a moment of fleeting, momentary clarity. And then go about your proper Imperial means of celebration. Charred animal flesh. Excessive drinking. Maybe a jingoistic, statistically inaccurate proclamation about Whatever You Really Like In America.
Sci-Fi writer John Scalzi signs 13 book, 10 year, $3.4M deal.
I haven’t read any John Scalzi. And I know that’s probably a personal flaw. But I love any renowned sci-fi writer in this day and age scoring those kind of lucrative contract. Rock on, Scalzi. Keep up the good fight. #PlatitudePlatitude
‘Twin Peaks’ miniseries expanded up to 18 episodes. All directed by Lynch.
Well, isn’t this a curious, fortuitous, radical swinging of events. Not only is the Twin Peaks revival happening, not only is David Lynch returning, but the show’s order is expanding to eighteen episodes.
