Konami apparently running its company like a gulag; cameras everywhere, timed lunches
Well. Fuck. No wonder Hideo Kojima got fired/got the fuck out of dodge. A man of his sizable personality and auteur-vision certainly wouldn’t fit into the gulag that Konami has become.
Sony letting PlayStation Plus members vote on which “free games” the service will add
This is pretty dope news, though not without its understandable caveats. Sony is going to let PS+ members vote on which games they get for free, at regular intervals throughout the year. However — it won’t be monthly. Double However, it will be from a list curated by Sony. Obviously.
Rumor: ‘Final Fantasy XII’ remake/remaster is coming
I really enjoyed FFXII. That battle system! That art design! That world! So fuck yeah, I would buy a remaster.
‘Game of Thrones’ running eight seasons. Probably more
What is dead may never die! Also! What is a profitable franchise may never die! Game of Thrones, for instance! Running eight seasons! At least!
Scoot McNairy is playing Jimmy Olsen in ‘Batman v Superman’
I can see it! I can dig it! And then I can remember despite Scoot McNairy, Batman v Superman ain’t going to be my cup of tea.
“Rowdy” Roddy Piper has passed away at age 61.
Was at the movies when my phone began blowing up from fellow wrestling fanatics, letting me know one of our heroes has passed away. Fucking Roddy Piper. Between wrestling, They Live, and his Always Sunny appearances, the good sir managed to pry his way into my heart through multiple pop culture avenues.
What’s your favorite memory of Piper? Share videos! Share images! Just share.
Weekend Open Bar: His Name Was Stan
It’s the Weekend, folks. Let’s enjoy it together. Let’s enjoy it for Stan. The (maybe)-character from True Detective‘s second season turned punchline for half of the internet. Stan‘s no longer with us, but I have it on good authority that he would have insisted that we enjoy the Weekend together. I also have it on good authority that he was a fan of the site, and particularly of this weekly column. Stan liked nothing more than lurking in Weekend Open Bar.
