Universal adds ‘The Hunchback of Notre Dame’ and ‘The Phantom of the Opera’ to its cinematic universe
I don’t even know why I’m covering this. I’m, I think, I’m oddly intrigued by this upcoming disaster for the studio.
Bradley Whitford has joined ‘Godzilla: The King of the Monsters’
Bradley Whitford has joined Godzilla: The King of the Monsters. Is this movie going to be good? I don’t know! But I liked Godzilla. Is this movie going to be good? I don’t know! But I love Bradley Whitford.
‘Cowboy Bebop’ being made into American live-action TV show because we all sin
Cowboy Bebop is being made into an American live-action TV show. Man. This is, uh, this is going to test a recent stance I’ve been trying to adopt. The stance? Trying to get less emotionally involved in remakes, sequels, and reboots. Saying to myself, “if it sucks, it sucks, but it doesn’t besmirch the original source” and such. Yeah. This one is going to test how well I can maintain this mantra.
Monday Morning Commute: Everything good everything good gravy
It’s been a minute, Space-Ship OMEGA. A hot minute, since I’ve dusted off and rolled out Monday Morning Commute. For that, to the three dedicated community members we have, I prostrate (and if you’d like, prostate) myself before you and beg forgiveness.
Rendar was doing them, and then he was maybe doing then, and then it seems life sped up and he simply wasn’t doing them, and I should have intervened. But, you know how it goes. Life speeds up, the mind slows down. It’s Monday evening at 10pm and I could idly blink at the TeleVisor, or I could activate the neurons. Lethargy always, entropy claims, I choose not to fight the great unwinding.
Anyways, hey! I hope you’re still here. Anyways, hey! I hope you’re still down to play the old game of Monday Morning Commute — where we share the various distractions, dalliances, and distillations that are helping us combat the weekly drudgery.
‘Breaking Bad VR Experience’ being created by Vince Gilligan, PlayStation, and Sony Pictures
The creator of Breaking Bad is teaming up with PlayStation and Sony Pictures to create the Breaking Bad VR Experience. What exactly will that experience entail? That remains to be seen.
‘The Dark Tower’ TV Spots: The Gunslinger Is Stronger Than Most
Here’s a couple of TV spots for The Dark Tower. I caught them (or at least one of them) during the NBA finals last night. They seem particularly action-heavy, which makes sense given during which they aired.
Tom Cruise announces title of ‘Top Gun 2’, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’
Do titles matter anymore? Asking for a friend. Me. I’m asking for me. ‘Cause Top Gun 2 is titled Top Gun: Maverick, and I can’t tell if it’s fine, cumbersome, or irrelevant.
Nintendo Switch’s online service will cost $20 a year and offer free classic games
There’s a lot about Nintendo Switch’s online platform that still seems cumbersome, and confusing as fuck. However, what is an assuredly dope about the service is that it’s only going to run $20 a year, and offer free classic games.
‘The Punisher’ Netflix series debuting in November, according to its director
Mark your calendars, folks. The Punisher is dropping on Netflix this November. Nothing says Holiday Spirit like rogue, ruthless, murdering justice-machines. Right?
‘Logan Lucky’ Trailer: Soderbergh‘s Anti-Glam ‘Ocean’s Eleven’ is wonderfully insane
Another movie I had no fucking clue about, until this trailer dropped. If I’m not up to date on pop culture, I’m just a slob, as opposed to a pop culture slob. Anyways. Neither here, nor there. This movie looks fucking insane, wonderfully so, if the trailer is any indication.
