Alex Garland wants to make a ‘Swamp Thing’ movie and they should fucking let him

Alex Garland, director of Ex Machina and the upcoming (and apparently dope as fuck) Annihilation wants to make a Swamp Thing movie. Given the quality of his past two directorial efforts, and his further work as a great screenwriter, I say they should fucking let him.

Guillermo del Toro moving forward with DC COMICS MOVIE featuring Swamp Thing and Constantine.

Oh, Gilly. This is one of the things you’re doing instead of Episode VII? I mean, don’t get me wrong. I think this is pretty cool. Actually, sort of really fucking awesome. And yet, I can’t help but wish it was lower on your hierarchy of worthwhile projects. Or Star Wars was higher. Eh. Whatever!

Guillermo Del Toro developing ‘AVENGERS-STYLE’ flick with second rate DC characters. Awesome.

B-characters have a bad wrap in comic books. A lot of the time they’re quirky as fuck, and the tales that revolve around them are unrestrained from having to answer to fanboy and fangirl expectations. So the fact that Guillermo Del Toro is taking a run at developing a flick around DC’s B-rate characters is awesome.

‘SWAMP THING’ x ‘ANIMAL MAN’ Event ‘ROTWORLD’ Kicks Off In Their 12th Issues.

Despite not reading Animal Man  or Swamp Thing  (listen I’m buying the trades, get off my ass), I’ve been kept abreast of their interweaving storylines courtesy of my brother. These mingling storylines will be coming to a head this August in the 12th issue of both titles.

Jeff Lemire Is Writing ‘Animal Man’, And The Complete List of All New #1s.

I don’t know how in the names of the Lords of Kobol that I missed this. I lamented that Jeff Lemire was no longer writing Superboy. What I didn’t notice, because of various ignorances and stupidities is that he is writing Animal Man. I’ll take that trade any day of the week.
