Jeff Lemire Is Writing ‘Animal Man’, And The Complete List of All New #1s.

I don’t know how in the names of the Lords of Kobol that I missed this. I lamented that Jeff Lemire was no longer writing Superboy. What I didn’t notice, because of various ignorances and stupidities is that he is writing Animal Man. I’ll take that trade any day of the week.

Also worth noting is that Scott Snyder is writing Swamp Thing. Another development that I missed in my fire-breathing fanboy tantrum. This may be a cheap manneuver to ride the nostalgia-bomb by trying to recuperate two Alan Moore stalwarts with current hot writers. The funny thing about it, is that I’m completely okay with this. It may be that my psych medicine is working today, or that I tired myself out last week.

Whatever the case, I’m beginning to turn around on the DC Reboot. It’s cheap, it’s temporary, and it isn’t going to result in anything in the long run. In the short term it is bringing a lot of writers I enjoy onto titles that I would either not read, or have been aching to have written by someone I love.

Comics Alliance Compiled The Entire List. Right  Here. Get It. Seriously! They’re awesome, those people.

Scott Snyder and  Yanick Paquette on Swamp Thing is awesome. Grant Morrison handling the reins of Action Comics is doubly dope. Jeff Lemire on Animal Man? Yes please. Paul Cornell on Demon Knights. Boom! As I’ve said, maybe I’ve just tired myself out. I’m trying to spin the coin, if you will. Look at the other side. They’re peeling back continuity, perhaps it is too convoluted and messy. They’re stapling enjoyable writers on to both solid established titles and some more esoteric work.

Is it as bad as I initially thought? Am I just going soft? Or are you guys also starting to at least begin to look for glimmers of light?
