#December2012
Minecraft creator Markus ‘Notch’ Persson and Mark Cuban drop combined $500,000 to help reform software patents.
How is this for an unlikely pairing. The creator of Minecraft and the bombastic owner of the Dallas Mavericks have combined forces to drop half a milli in order to help reform software patents. By the Lords of Kobol, with these sorts of pairings nothing is impossible!
The Dude’s High 5s: Apocalypse Edition
Welcome to the very last High 5. Yep, this is it, the final one. Its been quite a journey we’ve taken. I will admit, there have been ups and downs, but I wouldn’t trade a minute of it for anything. You’re probably wondering why this is the last one huh? Well, the apocalypse of course, December 21st. We’ve got two days to prep. So I figure with my swan song I might as well walk you through some likely scenarios so some of you might survive to envy the dead.
Thieves ninja 7,000 WII U CONSOLES from warehouse. Outstanding.
Isn’t this a stunning batch of ninja excellence. Thieves have stolen 7,000 Wii U consoles from a warehouse in Seattle. I don’t know how you flip that many hot Wii Us, but I will save that figuring-outing for the people brash enough to run such a heist.
Watch: ‘X-MEN’ 1992 cartoon intro goes STOP-MOTION.
The X-Men cartoon was the berries back in the day. At the same time as it aired, I was also down with playing with action figures. Well, more so than I am now. I used to have epic battles, now I’m all just like, “This is hilarious, making these two figures 69. I can hear their slurping sounds.” This video logically combines these two activities, dropping the cartoon intro as a stop-motion masterpiece.
Astronomers discover “potentially” habitable “Earth-like” planet “near us.” Qualifiers ++
Let’s all double-down on the qualifiers here, people. A mere 12 light-years away lurks a planet that may be habitable. So even though we can never reach it, and we will never truly know, let’s all get excited.
Watch: First FIVE MINUTES of ‘BIOSHOCK INFINITE.’ Do you dare?
I’m not watching this. However, I’m presenting you with the opportunity. Do you dare to spoil?
Cosplay: Tali from ‘MASS EFFECT’ strikes a pose.
Tali! We never saw your dumb face in Mass Effect, and for that I can never forgive you. That withstanding, this cosplay dedicated to you is lovely.
Video: Samuel L. Jackson and Anne Hathaway debate whose movie is more f**king sad.
The latest Funny or Die jam has Samuel L. Jackson and Anne Hathaway debating which one of their Christmas-release movies is more sad. Just watch it.
QUENTIN TARANTINO wanted to make a LUKE CAGE movie. Oh, to dream.
Jesus Christ, this would have been perfect. Right after he was done announcing his arrival to the world with Reservoir Dogs, Tarantino had an adaptation in mind. That adaptation was none other than motherfucking Luke Cage, with the role being filled by Laurence Fishburne. Goddamn, if that wasn’t the perfect pairing. All in all, we can’t be too sad it never got done. Dude Tarantino went on to create some other, mildly outstanding movie instead. Pulp Fiction.
‘AMAZING SPIDER-MAN’ writer Dan Slott getting death threats over his final issue. Weak sauce ++
Dan Slott’s final and controversial issue of Amazing Spider-Man isn’t out, and yet he is already receiving death threats. The ending which leaked online last week is a bit spicy to say the least, and that has sadly led to various douche-noggins threatening the writer through social media.
