Thieves ninja 7,000 WII U CONSOLES from warehouse. Outstanding.

Isn’t this a stunning batch of ninja excellence. Thieves have stolen 7,000 Wii U consoles from a warehouse in Seattle. I don’t know how you flip that many hot Wii Us, but I will save that figuring-outing for the people brash enough to run such a heist.

Polygon:

Demand in the Seattle area for Nintendo’s new Wii U was high this weekend, but not in the way Nintendo was hoping. More than $2 million worth of Nintendo hardware was stolen from a Seattle warehouse on Dec. 15 during a heist which saw some 7,000 Wii U consoles swiped from Sea-Tac’s Seattle Air Cargo, according to an ABC News report.

The thieves reportedly entered the warehouse after 9 p.m. on Saturday evening and proceeded to swipe 64 pallets’ worth of Nintendo hardware, filling two 53-foot trailers and a third, smaller box truck from Seattle Air Cargo with hot Wii U consoles. That’s a haul somewhere between $2.1 million and $2.45 million, depending on the nature of the Wii U inventory on hand.

The theft went undetected until Sunday afternoon, ABC News reports, when employees at Seattle Air Cargo noticed the consoles and multiple trucks were missing. Seattle police reportedly have no information on the thieves or the whereabouts of the missing Wii U consoles.

The Kings County Sheriff’s Office has asked for the public’s help in locating the 7,000 missing consoles, asking anyone with information related to the theft call (206) 296-3311.

Polygon has contacted Nintendo regarding a statement on the theft and investigation and will update when the company responds.
