We May Have Found An Earthlike Exoplanet. No Seriously. This Time Frreals.

It used to be pretty fucking fantastic when we would “find” an “Earthlike” exoplanet. These days they seem to come in droves. Yawn! Ho-hum! Whatevs. However the concept of “Earthlike” is pretty fucking rubbery. However  HD 85512b may totally be “Earthlike” in a somewhat sensical way.

Variant Covers: Wolverine’s Drunk And Beast Is Wearing A Red Wig

We’re shortly enclosing on the witching hour, the feast of October. The  ephemeral  time where the membrane between the expired and the wind-sucking melts before our eyes, unleashing torrents of evil and scares upon us. That ain’t the half of it either, dude. Motherfuckin’ candy up in the bitch and rotten teeth and syringes in the bags of your children. It’s dangerous out there! Stay inside. Read some funny books.

This is Variant Covers. The rags I’m stoked on this week. Share your pull-list after the spiel ends.

Fear Fest: Ape-ocalypse. G’damn Dirty Super Intelligent F**kers.

OCTOBER 25th, Ape-ocalypse

“It is even harder for the average ape to believe that he has descended from man.”
-H.L. Mencken

Today’s fear has been on my mind since I saw Rise of Planet of the Apes a few weeks back. I’m not going to take specifics from the film beyond the concept, but for posterity’s sake, I did enjoy it.

Standard Creates Artifical Skin From Nanotubes For Robots and Humans. Skinjobs Inc.

Geniuses at Stanford University are doing a good job of propelling the robot apocalypse. Anyone who has watched Battlestar Galactica knows that we must be ever vigilant about robots donning skin and infiltrating our society before launching the nukes. This threat is even more close now that these the aforementioned brainiacs have created what is essentially artificial skin.

Review: Batman Arkham City

Icarus, Jesus, Rocksteady Games. What do these three entities have in common. It’s not an affinity for sandals, or a desire to get closer to God, no: they are all victims of their own success. If I was in charge of Rocksteady Games I would have packed it in right after Arkham Asylum because crappy boss fights aside, that game was pure perfection.

TSA Goes Through Woman’s Luggage, Finds Vibrator. Leaves Encouraging Note.

You have to hand it to the TSA, they’re consistently finding new ways to become the bane of our existence. Yet, despite the sheer creepiness of the story I can’t help but chuckle at it. Motherfuckers searched a woman’s bag, found a vibrator, and then left her a note. Tsk tsk! It’s always the indefinite article, a vibrator.

Saturn’s Rings Manage To Balance Titan and Dione. More Cassini Goodness.

Check out the rings of Saturn, managing to levitate both Titan and Dione. Well, in my mind. In my mind magical rings have magical powers and levitate the Space-Objects. The reality is a bit less sexy, but sexy nonetheless.
