#August2011

Here’s The Rundown Of All The DC ‘New 52’ Logos.

DC’s revealed all the logos for the titles coming into existence in a couple of weeks as part of their ‘New 52’. Some of them are the same, some of them are pretty dope, and then ones like Captain Atom are impressively awful.

Hit the jump to check them out.

Gorgeous Mosaic of the Sun. Existential Swoon.

Check out this gorgeous mosaic of the Sun by César Cantú. The All Glowing Orb is a sexy specimen in general, but it’s looking exceptionally swank in Cantú’s work. So what exactly are we looking at here?

Monday Morning Commute: Tuesday Evening Caffeine Binge!

And a sexy good evening to you all. It’s a perfect, perfect  August evening here in the East Coast of the Empire. Crickets chirping, baseball dully playing in the background. A dew-dropped cold Dew in my hands. I can’t complain, I can’t complain. Now what am I doing here? I don’t want you to think that this column is the Omega Brothers’ slam pig, getting passed around. No sir.

You see the Rendar moved out yesterday, and he’s sans internet and with a lot to do. So I’m tagging in. A guest appearance.

This is  MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE,  the column where you and me give a run down of the arts, sights, and enjoyments that are keeping us loving the universe. Or at least surviving our status as glorious cogs.

Video: Dude Drives Semi-Truck Into Porn Store, Steals $800 Sex Toy.

You have to tip your cap to this man. He drove a semi-truck into an porn store, in order to gain access to the jack-off device of his balls’ dreams. An $800 sex toy complete with poon and bung to fill with his seed. You need to see the news clip, it’s as utterly ridiculous as the news story. Including the phrase “he wasn’t screwing around, either!”

Hit the jump for the video.

‘Art From A Galaxy Far Far Away’ Is Star Wars Gallery Bliss.

Randy Martinez and Denise Vasquez are two artists combining for one sexy Star Wars art gallery in the City of Angeles. While it’s far too away for me to go see myself, the images themselves crank up the nostalgia bomb. It’s great knowing that no matter what Fat Daddy Lucas does unto his trilogy, the sentiment flew out of his hands and into the hearts of artists and creators a long, long time ago. So while he churns out feces now, people inspired by the Skywalker and his Crew can pay homage through art of their own.

Hit the jump for a look at their artwork, and gallery details.

Marvel Teasing The Return Of The ‘Scarlet Spider’? Make Mine Reilly!

Fact: the greatest Spider-Man of all time was Ben Reilly. Second is obviously going to be Miles Morales. Parker can be a third if he asks nicely. Reilly held it absolutely down as the Scarlet Spider for a bit, and with Marvel teasing the return of said Scarlet, I hope it means we’ll get some bleach blond spider-action going on soon.

Hit the jump to check out the teaser.

Pirating Of Fox Shows More Than Doubles After Delaying Hulu Availability.

Last week, Fox changed their fancy licensing voodoo legislation prohibiting non-paying Hulu users from watching new episodes of their shows until eight days after the air date. These much aggrieved users, how’d they react? Motherfuckers pirated. Pirated like you wouldn’t believe.

Sonic CD Is Coming To XBLA? Nostalgia Bomb.

Sonic CD. The game that led to me crying and pleading with my parents that I totally oh my god oh my god oh my god  needed a Sega CD. It worked on me. It worked! A lot of people don’t like the game, but I recall enjoying it. Enjoying the delicious compact disc nature of its experience. Now it’s coming to XBLA. Fist-pumps? Yeah!

Chinese Version of Batman’s Origins Involve Stroking, Spiderman.

This origin, probably the true one that Wayne Corporation has paid to cover up, comes courtesy of a toy in a Chinese dollar store. Outstanding.

DC’s ‘New 52’ Getting Huge Initial Launch Orders. JLA #1 Past 200,000.

Initial orders and copies sold aren’t the same. Initial orders of enormous flagship titles aren’t indicative of how smaller titles of that publisher will sell, nor if the flagship will sustain the orders after the hype. Even with that in mind, I’m impressed at the initial orders for DC’s ‘New 52’ titles.
