‘HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE’ Teaser Trailer: Can J-LAW burn away the source’s mediocrity?

CATCHING FIRE. OR SOMETHING.

Oh shiiiit, I fucking hate myself for that pun. As you read through Catching Fire, it quickly becomes clear that its author Suzanne Collins doesn’t really have much of a panache outside of her original (stolen, borrowed, remixed, whatever) conceit. So while it would be awesome if Jennifer Lawrence, the film’s mediocre director, and the entire rush job could transcend its source material, I ain’t fucking betting on it. None the less, here is the trailer.

Monday Morning Commute: Breastfeed the Homeless

If you’re reading this, it means that you survived Monday, the most dastardly day of the week. For it is on this day that we are forced to return to our places of business, to do the bidding of others in the hopes that we may one day fulfill our own dreams. Unless you’re last name is Thoreau and you’ve got a friend who’ll loan you a nice bit of land, chances’re that you’re not taking yourself off the grid. Instead, you’re going to deal with a bullshit commute to get to job you don’t love so as to be able to pay the bills.

Yikes.

But since we’re all in this together, we might as well pool our minds together and come up with an antidote to workweek ennui. Thissere’s the MONDAY MORNING COMMUTE – the weekly post in which I share with you the various ways I’ll be entertaining myself until the weekend. Your task, should you choose to accept it, is to hit up the comments section and show off the Fun-Weapons you’ll be using while we pillage Boringville.

Without further adieu, let’s fuggin’ ROCK!

‘HUNGER GAMES’ Producer Talks SEQUELS, Respecting The Author

There’s an excitement in my loins for the Hunger Games  flick, and almost 33% of it is due to reasons other  than Jennifer Lawrence running around in a skin-tight track suit kicking ass. Oh god, that track suit. Unless you’re a dullard-dunce you know that after Hunger Games,  Suzanne Collins churned out two sequels. What is going on with them?

Video: ‘The Hunger Games’ Teaser From The VMAs.

Mrs. Caffeine Powered and myself are currently taken with ‘The Hunger Games’ trilogy by Suzanne Collins. I summarized my feelings about it in last week’s Monday Morning Commute calling the book “neither original nor particularly well written. It’s Lord of the Battle Royale V for Vendetta Flies. Collins uses cheap emotional hooks to draw the reader in, and telegraphs cataclysms from miles away. Yet for some reason, it’s entertaining.” Translation: I love this crap.

So yeah, I was excited for the teaser last night.

Hit the jump to check it out.
