NGP Officially Titled ‘PlayStation Vita’, Will Cost $250.

Do you use handheld video game wunder-devices? I don’t. But the next Sony handheld is tempting me. It’s powerful like a sumbitch, it’s going to feature fucking Uncharted and BioShock titles, and it’s not going to cost very much at all. Tempting. So tempting.

Assassin’s Creed: Revelations’ E3 Trailer Proves Ezio Ages Like A Boss.

I’ve only played Assassin’s Creed II. Didn’t play the original, heard it was ass. Loved the sequel. Brotherhood came out in the teeth of the gaming schedule, and I couldn’t afford it. Since then, I’ve been staring at it used on Amazon for $30, with everyone telling me “AC: Brotherhood is like the second one, but better in every way.”

I need it, and I especially need it after watching this trailer for the conclusion to Ezio’s tale.

‘BioShock Infinite’ E3 Trailer Is Outstanding. No Puns.

Oh boy. The trailer for BioShock Infinite just karate-chopped every other reveal trailer I’ve seen in the neck. It may be a fatal chop. The medics are looking over the victims now. The best part? It’s purely gorgeous gameplay, which is executed with a fluidity and rapidity that wasn’t there in the original. We’ll get all of this, and what is assuredly a storyline built to milk the philosophical glands of all us thinking geeks.

‘Batman Inc’ To Relaunch In 2012 by Morrison. DC, You Confuse Me.

I’m having an impossible time trying to figure out what’s going on with the DCU. I know that Flashpoint is changing everything but like how? I suppose that’s half the intrigue of the entire enterprise, but it’s leaving me quite flummoxed. It’s a reboot, relaunch, reprise, rehash, refry, re-something. I just don’t know what. I’d really like to. After lamenting that Dick Grayson is going back to Nightwing, and all of Batman Inc. is getting peeled away, apparently it isn’t?

Two ‘Uncharted 3’ E3 Trailers. November Is Far Away. Far.

I’m really feeling this year’s E3. Through some fortuitous bending of universal whims, a lot of my favorite franchises are getting reveals at the same time. One of them happens to be Uncharted 3!, with both an E3 reveal trailer as well as a gameplay walkthrough. What a blessed series. No, seriously. I love Indiana Drake, or Nathan Jones, or whatever you want to call him.

Two ‘Mass Effect 3’ E3 Trailers Are Right Here. Biotic Tingling Everywhere.

Goodness gracious, I am not worthy. Here’s two E3 trailers for Mass Effect 3, and they have me positively losing my cool. There’s a ‘found footage’ one of the Reapers arriving, and another one that’s straight-up gameplay porn.

Monday Morning Commute: Swamp Rats

[via]

If you’re not careful, you may wind up a regular, boring person. You’ll sip only from bottles of regular, boring mind-juice. Your blood will never boil, whether in contempt or jubilation, at the sight of any unscheduled programming. You will never swing your Existential Monster Truck over the double-lines, crushing regular, boring soul-vessels in the process. In fact, you’ll just become mired in the homogeneous muck of mediocrity.

Forever.

Because that’s what THEY want.

Welcome to the Monday Morning Commute! This weekly post is my excuse to ramble and then show you how I’ll be keeping my (in)sanity via entertainment. After I puff, I’m going to pass – hit up the comments section and share what you’ll be doing in the upcoming days.

Let’s rawk.

Game of Thrones: The Pointy End

Game of Thrones does this really incredible thing every week in which things appear to be at their worst. It feels like at any moment the kettle is going to boil over and everything will burst into flames. The amazing thing is that it doesn’t. The scary thing is, is that it’s still going to get worst. It’s unrelenting. With this episode everyone is gearing up for war. The “green” Robb Stark is stepping up to the plate for his father’s honor, the Lannisters are eager to defend their title, the Dothraki have no choice but to follow Drogo across the sea, and it appears that an unholy army is massing north of the Wall. I’ve read the first two books in the series and all of this still excites the hell out of me.

Kevin Smith Getting A Comic Book Shop Reality Show On AMC. Weird.

An unlikely alliance.  Kevin Smith and AMC are teaming up to bring a reality show centered on Smith’s comic book shop to television. Not even going to stunt, I’m going to watch the crap out of this show.
