Trailer: ‘Beyond the Game’ Is Dope Documentary About Gaming Culture(s).
It should be noted that I love the various (sub)cultures that I’m a part of. Gamers, comic book fans, heavy metal dorks, whatever. I’m not the sort that walks down a Comic-Con alley with a derisive grin. I’m a dork, I like it. So a documentary about the various cultures that the gaming community is composed of gets me excited.

Only Ten Percent Of Gamers Finish Their Games? For Shame.
An industry veteran recently told CNN that only one out of ten gamers complete their games. Apparently he brought along a whole pile of studies and the such to corroborate this fact. I can provide anecdotal evidence: I have a lot of friends who buy a lot of games, and to say their backlog is voluminous is to play it safe.

Behold this righteous sand pit found on the surface of Mars. It leads to a cavern beneath the surface where undoubtedly Martians are planning their fatal assault on Mars-2, or what we call Earth. They terraformed it, they released us onto it, and now they’re coming home. Uh, right? Moving on.
Wondering how such a thing came to be?

[Updated] Marvel Reveals ‘The Forgiven’, Hulk-Fighters Extraordinaires
[Update] I blathered on this afternoon about The Forgiven, and the line of Marvel teasers dedicated to them. I said “Derpa derpa, what could these people be?” Well Marvel up and told everyone mere hours later. Egg on my face, friends. Egg on my face!
Old Republic Called ‘As Interesting As A Naboo Trade Blockade’. Not Surprised.

I am a Star Wars nerd. I like MMOs. You’d think the two would mix into some delicious concoction for me. Nope. While I have friends throwing rope and counting the minutes until it comes out, nothing – nothing – I’ve seen about it convinces me it’s anything but another MMO. With a bloated budget, too much voice work, and the monolithic Star Wars hype train pushing it.
Luke Plunkett at Kotaku confirms my anxieties.
