‘MAN OF STEEL’ TEASER TRAILER: I hate that I don’t hate this.

July 21st, 2012 by Caffeine Powered

I caught this Man of Steel trailer prior to my viewing of Dark Knight Rises, and now it is online for the rest of the world to see. My main problem with this teaser trailer is that I actually find it enjoyable. This can only be setting me up for the inevitable disappointment of experiencing yet another Zack Snyder flick. Right? Fuck, I hope I’m wrong.

sorry that teaser did nothing for me and the S at the end still looks awful. I hope they fix the S and make it look better and they sould keep from the director of watchmen but drop 300. 300 sucked ass.

I disagree with seth completely. I found it engaging, unique, and looked very different from your typical Zack Snyder flick. The colors were subdued, there were no slo-mo cuts, very little CGI. I say bravo, and very much look forward to the flick. (Caveat: I am a huge Superman-mythology fan, think there is tons of potential for the character that only once in a great while gets reached, and actually enjoyed Supes: Returns – but not, y’know, alot)

Yeah dude, I really enjoyed this trailer. It was far different than what I was expecting out of Snyder. I think his flair will definitely show up in the action set pieces, but that’s good if not great. If he can channel his visual style with some restraint when called for, this movie could be dope.

So how do you feel about Smallville? I’ve only seen season 1 and a few eps here and there, nothing after season 4. What I saw was not bad, is it worth taking the time to re-watch the series?

Although it didn’t show much of anything, this teaser made me smile. Zack Snyder is a director who’s made some movies I love and some movies I hate, but I think he might be the guy needed to pull off a visually-stunning Superman.

    I’m on board.

I think as long as it isn’t too Richard Donner “homage-y” and Snyder does his own visual thing tastefully it will probably be good. I really like the BSG-esque following the action like a documentary style. My worry is that the Superman emo dude on a boat stuff will take a good chunk of the movie and not in a good way.

Also, as someone pointed out elsewhere online that I can’t remember, both his dads are Robin Hood so that has to mean something.

That I can’t really answer. I liked it ok, but didn’t really follow the show. It often drifted into either the “Dawson’s Creek teen melodrama” or the “X-Files freak of the week” genres, and I never watched regularly. I did like most of the cast, though!

    You answered perfectly thank you.

heres my problem with it, first off it we are being told supermans origin story for the 3d time. Enough with retelling his damn origin story, if this movie was going to be anything like earth one novel then i be more excited and thats not what we are going to get. I hope i,m wrong but i think whoever said we might spend too much time with clark instead of superman i think that person is right on the money. All I want is a good fun superman movie. The casting for the movie i,m not sure about. I,m going to keep a open mind about this movie. I have issues with superman returns, I don,t care what anyone says that movie was a remake of richard donners movie. The movie had some good stuff but mostly it sucked big time. I,ll go as far to say superman 4 was a better movie then returns because 4 is at least a fun campy, cheesy movie that i,ll watch once in a blue moon but I,ll never watch superman returns ever again.
