Rumor: Daniel Craig offered $150 million to return for two more ‘Bond’ movies

James Bond.

Man, I like your Bond, Craig. But even I have misgivings about you needing to be bribed until returning to the franchise for this much money. Like, you ain’t *that* good as Bond, even to me. Give me Elba. Give me Hiddleston.

CBR:

Daniel Craig could be looking at a whole new tax bracket.

James Bond himself, Daniel Craig, is rumored to have been offered an astounding $150 million, by Sony, to return as 007 for two more films, according to Radaronline.

It’s been widely noted online, though, that Craig, 48, has expressed little interest in returning to the iconic role. But, with Sony still in the vetting process for the next Bond, the company is looking to secure Craig until the process is complete.

“Daniel’s the key for a seamless, safe transition as far as Sony and Bond bosses are concerned,” according to Radaronline’s anonymous source. “And they’re prepared to pay a king’s ransom to make it happen.”

With Sony expected to announce in the next few days that the studio is renewing its rights to distribute Bond films, the site says they’d like to tie Daniel down for two more films, shot back to back, before transitioning the role to a new actor.

As for who could potentially take up the mantle of Bond, the shortlist of names varies depending on the day. But, names like Idris Elba (Krall from “Star Trek Beyond”), Tom Hiddleston (Loki from the Marvel Cinematic Universe), Jamie Bell (the Thing from “Fantastic Four”) and Michael Fassbender (Magneto from the recent “X-Men” films) all have been associated with the role.
