‘Jurassic World’ becoming a trilogy; #runrunrun!

‘Jurassic World’ Final Trailer: Run! Run! Run!

Why have one Jurassic World movie when you can have three?! Especially when the first pile of dinosaur turd made $4 trillion dollars?

Polygon:

Contrary to popular belief, Jurassic World isn’t going to have a sequel. It’s going to have two.

During a roundtable conversation with The Hollywood Reporter, Universal Pictures chairman Donna Langley confirmed that plans had been made to turn Jurassic World into a trilogy.

“Colin Trevorrow is busy working on an outline,” Langley said. “He’s been working with Steven [Spielberg]. And they have an idea for the next two movies actually.”

Langley admitted that she had no idea Trevorrow and Spielberg were working on the project, but called the news, “a happy surprise.”

Trevorrow is already working on pre-development for the sequel, which is scheduled to be released on June 22, 2018. Although there’s no estimated release date for the third film, Trevorrow’s also set to tackle the ninth Star Wars installment. With that entry scheduled to hit theaters in 2019, it’s fair to assume that audiences won’t see the thirdJurassic World movie until 2020 at the earliest.

Both Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are set to reprise their roles from the first film in the sequel, but there’s no word on whether they’ll be a part of the final movie.
