‘Steve Jobs’ Trailer: Meet The World’s Favorite TechnoJerkLord

Gizmodo:

Steve Jobs is shaping up to be one hell of a biopic! Here’s the latest look at Micahel Fassbender doing his very best megalomaniacal technologist.

The new trailer is tense. While the last trailer spent some time exposing us to Seth Rogan’s portrayal of Steve Wozniak, this second trailer is focused almost exclusively in Jobs himself—and the crazy obsessive bastard he could be.

The first bit starts with the more optiminstic, and generous version of the origin story: Steve Jobs’ vision of making a computer that’s usable by everyone. “What if a computer was a beautiful object? Something you wanted to look at and have in your home. And what if instead of being in the right hands, we put it in everyone’s hands,” he says.

Of course, in service of that undeniably beautiful vision, Jobs alienates a lot of people and treats many, many more horribly.

Forget Ashton’s—not that anybody took that pretty boy seriously—Fassbender’s dark portrayal gives me shivers. The lighting, the music the Aaron Sorkin script, and the Danny Boyle direction all add up to a trailer that’s giving me chills even after watching it a few times. The film hits theaters October 9th, and it can’t come soon enough.
