Robert Rodriguez Teases CAST & FORMAT Of ‘SIN CITY: A DAME TO KILL FOR’. It’s Happening!

It seems that Sin City: A Dame To Kill For  is actually happening. The title is segueing from the world of the ethereal and into the reality. Man-In-Charge  Robert Rodriguez has helped to condense the vapors further, letting MTV in on some of the sequel’s details.

Comics Alliance:

Talking to MTV, Rodriguez said that a sequel to  Sin City  was always on the cards, but was delayed because his producers didn’t have the money in place to make it happen at the time:

I think it was 2007, and I was already meeting with Angelina Jolie and people to do it. The Weinsteins had just started a new company. They just didn’t have the money to do it at the time. It was like, “Go do another movie or two and come back. We’ll be ready.” I went off and did a couple movies. Frank went off and did some movies. Then it got harder and harder to come back and find the time to do it. We missed that moment when it was ready to go. Then it was so far afterwards that it might as well have been any time now, but people never lost their appetite for it. They still come up to us and say “When are you doing another ‘Sin City’?” We thought we had to do it at some point. Now we’re just making the time.

Answering  a question we asked when the project was announced,  A Dame To Kill For  will feature multiple stories, with Rodriguez saying that “three is a good number… I think two is just weird, three feels like a dramatic structure, even if they’re different stories.”

The movie is currently in the casting stages — Rodriguez hopes to start shooting after completing Machete next month — but confirmed that both Mickey Rourke and Rosario Dawson will be back for this second installment, saying that “they’ve always been excited about doing another one, so that will be fun.” Less clear at this point is whether or not Angelina Jolie, who has previously been linked with the title role, will be involved. “I haven’t even gotten to meet with her yet about it or discuss with Frank about who we would want to go with or talk to first,” Rodriguez said. We can but hope that she agrees — After all, afterSalt,  Kung Fu Panda 2  and  The Tourist, doesn’t the future Mrs. Pitt owe it to herself to make something people want to see for a change?

Shit, I completely forgot about  Rosario Dawson. I’m pretty sure I’ll see this flick just to bask in the glory that is her in latex S&M gear.
