Steve Jobs has died.
The company has released the following statement:
Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and inspiring mentor. Steve leaves the company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple.
They have also invited everyone to send their thoughts, memories, and condolences to [email protected]. No further details are available at this time. In 2004, Jobs was diagnosed with a cancerous tumor in his pancreas. As his health got worse, Jobs was forced to step down as CEO of Apple in August, stating that he could “no longer meet [his] duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO.”
