Robert Downey Jr. appearing in ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming’

Consummate fuccboi and proponent for extensive government regulations Tony Stark will be in Spider-Man: Homecoming. I think we have all sort of expected this, but now it is confirmed.

It’s long been rumored, but now it’s actually happening: Robert Downey Jr. will reprise his role as the Iron Avenger Tony Stark in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Peter Parker’s feature-length entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The news, from Hollywood Reporter, comes from a separate deal the actor has negotiated with Marvel and Sony beyond his current standalone deals to play Iron Man in both parts of Avengers: Infinity War. The news is not entirely suprising. Just last week Marvel Studios head honcho Kevin Feige confirmed that other Marvel movie characters would be appearing inHomecoming, but Tony Stark specifically has been rumored to be involved in the movie for over a year at this point—which makes sense, as he is heavily involved in introducing the character into the Marvel world in Civil War.
