‘Star Wars’ Standalone News: Felicity Jones is the lead, Edgar Ramirez & Aaron Paul for male lead

okay

WE HAVE BEEN FUCKING HAD! Here I was all celebrating my Orphan Blackian victory, after news hit that Tatiana Maslany won the role in the Star Wars standalone. But now it’s confirmed that it’s Felicity Jones? WHO?! JKmaybesheiswonderful. I’m just not familiar. Oh! And SOLO, BITCH! is still a possibility.

Play List:

Over the past week, various sites picked up a hardly sourced rumor that “Orphan Black” star Tatiana Maslany had won the lead role in the brewing “Star Wars” spinoff slated to be directed by Gareth Edwards. Yes, she was in the running along with Rooney Mara, Kate Mara actress Felicity Jones, but the gig has gone elsewhere.

THR reports that the Oscar-nominated “The Theory Of Everything” actress has bagged the role. Chris Weitz is writing the script for the movie that’s rumored to be about a group of bounty hunters who steal the plans for the Death Star, but that has not been confirmed. Meanwhile, Aaron Paul(recently rumored to play a young Han Solo — which he denied) and Edgar Ramirez are being tossed around as potential candidates for the male lead role.

Dost thou know Jones? Eh?
