Rumor: KHAL DROGO (Jason Momoa) in talks to join ‘BATMAN VS. SUPERMAN.’

Jason Momoa.

Good guy Zack Snyder. If reports are to be believed, it seems he is salvaging the man behind Game of Thrones’ Khal Drogo from the trash heap. And thank goodness! Those pectoral muscles need to glisten upon the big screen. (In another movie outside of Conan which the Dude and I sadly saw together. We had a fun time though.) It seems a bit too obvious, but Jason Momoa is a logical Doomsday. Right?

“Game of Thrones” alum Jason Momoa may be the next addition to 2015’s “Man of Steel” sequel, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The trade publication cites sources saying Momoa is in negotiations to join the film’s cast in an unspecified role, with THR speculating that it may be alien supervillain Doomsday or Justice League mainstay Martian Manhunter.

Momoa has plenty of experience with genre film and TV, including his performance as Khal Drogo in season one of “Game of Thrones” and the starring role of the 2011 “Conan the Barbarian” film. The 34-year-old actor, who also co-starred in four seasons of “Stargate Atlantis,” was one of the reported frontrunners for the role of Drax in Marvel Studios‘ upcoming“Guardians of the Galaxy,” a part that eventually went to Dave Bautista.

Just last week, Warner Bros. took observers by surprise with the announcement that Gal Gadot, best known for her supporting roles in the “Fast and the Furious” franchise, was officially on board the project as the first actress to play Wonder Woman in a feature film. Henry Cavill will reprise his “Man of Steel” role of Superman in the film, and Ben Affleck will make his debut as fellow DC Comics superhero Batman.

Directed by Zack Snyder, the still-untitled “Man of Steel” sequel — commonly referred to by fans as “Batman vs. Superman” — is scheduled for release on July 17, 2015.
