‘FANTASTIC FOUR’ REBOOT dropping Spring of 2015. That year is choking.

Well tits. I thought that this year was a busy year for superhero movies, and I suppose it was. However, it ain’t going to have anything in comparison to 2015. A year already choking on superhero films is having another one added to the calendar. That’s right! Fantastic Four, come on down. Join the deluge of tights-and-lasers flicks that will be competing against one another in the third year since the Mayan apocalypse.

This past summer, many wondered if five years between “Spider-Man 3” and “The Amazing Spider-Man” was a big enough space to reboot the superhero franchise. Well, numbers don’t lie and with over $750 million worldwide, it seems there were more than enough folks ready for more Peter Parker. That being said, the “Fantastic Four” duo of the films aren’t as fondly remembered as Sam Raimi‘s Spidey pictures, and frankly they could reboot it next week for all anyone cares. But it looks like they’ll take their time to get it right.

Fox has set a March 6, 2015 release date for the Josh Trank directed “Fantastic Four.” So yeah, it’s going to be two and a half years of wishlists and rumors and arrive eight years after “Fantastic 4: Rise Of The Silver Surfer.” With recent developments in the “X-Men: Days Of Future Past” flick suggesting crossover to the first batch of “X-Men” films, one wonders if Fox will be trying Marvel-ize with teases for “Fantastic Four” in the upcoming ‘Spider-Man’ movies or even “The Wolverine.” Both characters (among others) have served as allies to Fantastic Four, so we wouldn’t be surprised. And we’d imagine Mark Millar might be having those conversations as the new consultant on the studio’s Marvel movies.
