SWTOR Logs Over 60 Million In-Game Hours. Blizzard, Wut Say U?!

SWTOR is kicking ass. Taking names. Force chokin’ bitches. Electronic Arts is touting it as the fastest-growing MMO in history, and the Star Wars geek in me giggle in glee.

Destructoid:

Electronic Arts has plenty to crow about following the release of  Star Wars: The Old Republic. It would appear that the game has enjoyed a hugely successful launch, with the publisher claiming it to be the “the fastest growing subscription MMO in history.”

To hammer home the point, EA has released some big statistics detailing just how many hours have been logged, how many characters created, and the sheer genocidal figure that represents the number of slaughtered NPCs.

  • Over 60 million in-game hours — roughly equivalent to watching all six Star Wars movies over 4 million times
  • Over 850,000 Sith Warriors and over 810,000 Jedi Knights created
  • Over 260 million quests completed
  • Over 44 million PvP battles
  • Over 9 million space combat missions completed
  • Over 3 billion NPCs killed

Fucking awesome. The continual – at this point yawn-inducing it has been mentioned so many times – caveat is Gods only knows if it’ll keep up the momentum. Even to come within earshot of WoW’s longevity is a Herculean task. We’ll see, man. And woman. We’ll see, you two.
