CBR:

The upcoming DCEU standalone movie for The Flash, subtitled Flashpoint, has had its fair share of setbacks, but things continue to move forwardNow, the first solo movie focusing on Ezra Miller’s Scarlet Speedster has a new script from Joby Harold.

Reported by Variety film reporter Justin Kroll on Twitter, word of the script arrived hand in hand with word that the search for a director remains a top priority for Warner Bros. Phil Lord and Chris Miller are taking on the Artemis book adaptation, which means it’s likely they’re out of the running to direct Flashpoint, but Robert Zemeckis is still being considered to helm the movie.

The Flash: Flashpoint has run through a who’s who of directors on its way to make it to the big screen. Lord & Miller, Seth Grahame-Smith, and Rick Famuyiwa have all been attached at one point or another. Despite its interest in Zemeckis, Warner Bros. remains open to meetings with other potential directors. It’s also said that the studio will be in no rush to announce when it does successfully pair a director with the movie, which suggests it’s not looking to fast-track Flashpoint.

Flashpoint will star Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Billy Crudup as Henry Allen, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Originally intended to hit theaters on March 16, 2018, the film has no announced release date.
