‘DAREDEVIL’ NETFLIX SERIES to be penned by ‘CABIN IN THE WOODS’ WRITER Drew Goddard.

Daredevil.

Well fuck me sideways! On a rooftop! In a Daredevil costume. This is rad as fuck. The mind behind (well, one of the minds) Cabin in the Woods is going to be helming the Daredevil series for Netflix.

The Wrap reports that the man behind “Cabin In The Woods” and “Cloverfield” and who helped salvage “World War Z” has been tapped by Marvel to write their “Daredevil” series that will air on Netflix. And given Marvel’s success with Joss Whedon godfathering their universe, perhaps it’s not a shock they want to stay working with someone with his sensibilities. Indeed, Goddard wrote for both “Buffy The Vampire Slayer” and “Angel,” and the pair collaborated on ‘Cabin,’ so this likely a good fit for everyone involved.

There are no plot points just yet, but this will be the first of four shows—followed by “Jessica Jones,” “Iron Fist” and “Luke Cage”—that will eventually culminate in “The Defenders” miniseries. So basically, “The Avengers” plan but for streaming. “Daredevil” will kick thing off the Netflix deal starting in 2016, and that long wait makes sense considering nothing has even been written yet.

I fucking love this. It’s nice to see that Netflix/Marvel are bringing in legitimate talent to helm their new series. While Netflix has only proven themselves worthy in the original content area, at least for me personally there still exists an irrational anxiety about quality of production.

So fuck yeah!
