Daniel Day-Lewis continues to crush it as Honest Abe in poster for Spielberg’s ‘LINCOLN’

Shiiit, Daniel Day-Lewis is continuing to look phenomenal in his depiction of Abraham Lincoln. If nothing else, I imagine this movie will be a must-see for his performance alone.

Play List:

With only a little more than two months before release, all we’ve seen of Steven Spielberg‘s “Lincoln” is one official image. Is it a matter of confidence? A knowledge that people are going to want to see a biopic of the legendary President, directed by America’s favorite filmmaker, and starring one of the most-lauded actors of the last few decades, regardless of what the promotional material looks like? Is it an attempt to not be seen as the Oscar front-runner too far in advance? Or is something else going on?

Either way, it looks like the floodgates may be opening, as Disney and DreamWorks have emailed over the film’s official one-sheet. And… well, it’s a picture of Daniel Day-Lewis, look stern, as Lincoln. In black and white. What were you expecting, Saul Bass? It certainly backs up hints that the film will be a sober, unsensational biopic of the president, but normally trailers follow on pretty soon from posters, so we may be finding out for sure sooner rather than later. “Lincoln” goes into limited release on November 9th, before going wider a week later.
