AMANDA PLUMMER joins the cast of ‘THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE’, Tarantino fans nod knowingly.

Amanda Plummer may be best known for work as a fucking crazy lady in Pulp Fiction, but that could change very soon. There ain’t anything like getting cast in an enorme vehicle flick to alter your perception in the public’s eyes.

/Film:

Both Pumpkin and Honey Bunny would be very happy today as Amanda Plummer has been cast in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire. The Tony Award winning, Pulp Fictionactress will play the role of Wiress (aka Nuts) in Francis Lawrence‘s sequel to The Hunger Games, which also stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Jena Malone and others. Read more about the role, which could be considered a minor spoiler, after the jump.

In The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, the evil President Snow decides the best way to celebrate the 75th anniversary of The Hunger Games is to do it like an All-Star game and have a bunch of former winners come back to the arena. This, of course, includes Katniss and Peeta as well as several other new characters. One of them is Plummer’s character, Wiress, a shy, smart, awkward, older tribute from District 3 who most of the other tributes reject as an ally. Katniss embraces her, though, and it’s Wiress who figures out an element crucial to the newly changed Hunger Games.

Dope casting.
