New Images From Filming of ‘Game of Thrones’ Season Two Reveal The Gods of Westeros. Booyah.

New images from the filming of the second season of Game of Thrones has revealed statues of the Gods of Westeros. Even if you haven’t read the books and have no idea who the fuck they are (I’m currently in the middle of the second book), they’re still pretty swank.

Hit the jump to check out them.

Want to know the context of this (awesome) scene? Minor spoilers below:

The scene in question features the statues of the seven Gods of Westeros and will include brand new characters Melisandre (Carice van Houten), Stannis (Stephen Dillane), and Davos (Liam Cunningham). In the scene Melisandre, a prophet who worships the different faith, R’hllor, (the god of light), convinces Stannis to burn the statues from his home of Dragonstone. Melisandre then pulls something very interesting from the flames (stay tuned to find out when the series returns next year or read the second novel). The religious statues represent the Father, the Mother, the Warrior, the Maiden, the Smith, the Crone, and the Stranger (Death).

One of the cooler scenes I’ve gotten to in the book.
