FACEBOOK STOCK Traded At Record-Smashing 2.7 Million Shares Per Second

As a poor graduate student majoring in literature  (laugh it up, fuzzball), I don’t really understand stock. What I do understand are sexy buzz words like “record breaking”, buzz words that can attract even the fat-skulled such as myself. Them there people are breaking the records? Count me in!

Gizmodo:

The Facebook IPOcalypse continues, free falling first, now barely recovering. We don’t know if it’s going to be the most successful opening IPO in history but, right now, it seems they may have broken the record for the  fastest  traded record in history.

During the first 30 seconds of trading, the stock registered 82 million operations–2.7 million shares per second! After that, the volume dropped down, although it topped 100 million shares traded in less than five minutes.

Hey cool! A record was broken!
