‘Cobra Kai’ Season 4 Teaser Trailer: Terry Silva is back in the dojo!

I suppose it was only a matter of time until Terry Silva returned, right? And that fucking time is now, according to the teaser trailer for the fourth season of Cobra Kai.

Polygon:

If Cobra Kai’s creators are to be believed, they’ve been working since day one on this: the return of Terry Silver.

Who? If you, like many, checked out of the Karate Kid franchise after 1986’s Part II, Silver is introduced in 1989’s Part III as the big bad Green Beret buddy of John Kreese (Martin Kove), who contrives and bankrolls a strange plan to defeat and discredit Daniel-san. (Spoiler alert: It fails.)

Silver was teased in the finale of Netflix’s Cobra Kai season 3, when Kreese picks up the batphone to call in his rich pal once more. A bonkers Vietnam War flashback threading through season 3 reveals that Kreese and Silver were both POWs, and Kreese saved Silver from fighting to the death for the amusement of their captors. So after Silver came home and made his millions in toxic waste management, he’s repaid his wookiee life debt whenever Kreese needs a hand.

Thursday’s teaser does not mention when Cobra Kai season 4 will premiere, though. Season 3, delayed somewhat by the COVID-19 pandemic, tipped off on Jan. 1. Among the loose ends it left untied, Daniel and Johnny have started up a new dojo together; Robby has allied with Kreese, to the despair of his father figures; and Tory and Sam’s rivalry is due for a rubber match.
