‘Sicario 2: Soldado’ Trailer: Brolin and Del Toro Go To War With The Cartels

I’m fucking ready for this movie, dude. The original movie ruled. And while this one isn’t directed by Denis Villeneuve, Brolin and Del Toro are back! Not only that, though. It’s also written by Taylor Sheridan. Who, if you haven’t been keeping up, fucking rules. Let’s do this!

AV Club:

The trailer for Sicario 2: Soldado, featuring Josh Brolin and Benicio Del Toro reprising their roles as morally compromised DEA agent Matt Graver and his shadowy associate Alejandro Gillick, has arrived. The new film—which sees Italian TV director Stefano Sollima taking over for Denis Villeneuve—has been described by writer Taylor Sheridan as even darker and grittier than the original film. (Like “Sicario on steroids,” even.) And this first look seems to live up to that promise, as Graver and Gillick are given license to play as dirty as they want in the war against Mexico’s drug cartels. And that, friends, is very dirty.

Sicario 2: Soldado is set to debut in theaters on June 29, 2018.
