Frank Miller’s ‘Sin City’ is being rebooted as a TV series

sin city tv series reboot

Do, do people care about Sin City anymore? I sure don’t. I’m sure others do. But, hey, maybe a TV series can reinvigorate my expired-ass interest in the franchise.

CBR:

A reboot of Frank Miller’s Sin City is in the works, but instead of returning with another film, the project is moving to television.

Deadline reports showrunner Glen Mazarra (The Walking Dead, The Shield) has joined as a writer, with Len Wiseman from the Underworld franchise directing. Deadline also adds that the new television series will stick close to the source material of the graphic novels, while also introducing new characters and timelines. So far the show doesn’t have a home, though “networks are beginning to circle.”

The popular comic book series spawned two feature film: 2005’s Sin City and 2014’s Sin City: A Dame to Kill For, both written, directed, and produced by Miller and Robert Rodriguez. Both films were unique in this day and age of comic book adaptations by keeping the black-and-white visual stylings of the comics, along with literal translations of comic book scenes.

Sin City starred Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Benicio Del Toro, Brittany Murphy, Clive Owen, Elijah Wood, Jaime King, and Rosario Dawson, among others. The majority of the cast returned for Sin City: A Dame to Kill For along with with newcomers Josh Brolin, Joseph-Gordon Levitt, Eva Green, and Ray Liotta.
