‘Prey for the Gods’ Trailer: Stunning ‘Shadow of the Colossus’ homage
Prey for the Gods seems to be a gorgeous, self-aware homage to Shadow of the Colossus. The title is currently seeking $300,000 on Kickstarter. I don’t know if this is a good amount to be asking for, or not. But I do know, you go ahead and Kickstart this, I’ll be there when it drops.
A bleak landscape, battles against massive enemies which you can climb over…Prey for the Gods is as Shadow of the Colossus as you can get without actually playing Shadow of the Colossus.
The game’s description even says “you must survive the colossal dangers that you encounter”, in case you hadn’t picked it up already.
Not that I’m down on such blatant inspiration! It’s been over a decade since Shadow of the Colossus, so it’ll be interesting to see what someone else does with the formula, and Team Ico’s classic never appeared on PC or Mac, the platforms Prey for the Gods is hitting.
